PRODUCT HAVING IMPROVED PHYSICAL PROPERTIES WHICH IS TREATED AT TEMPERATURES NOT LOWER THAN 50*C. OF A NOVEL COPOLYMER WHICH EXHIBITS IMPROVED CYCLIC STURCTURE-FORMING ABILITY, CONSISTING OF; (I) ACRYLONITTRILE (II) 0.05-20 MOL PERCENT TO THE ACRYLONITRILE OF A HYDROXYMETHYLACRYLIC COMPOUND OF THE FORMULA 1 BELOW:
H2C=C(-X)-CH(-OH)-R
(WHEREIN X STANDS FOR A RADICAL SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF CYANO, CARBOXLATE RADICALS; AND R IS A MEMBER OF THE GROUP CONSISTING OF HYDROGEN, ALKYL RADICALS OF NOT OVER 12 CARBONS, ARYL RADICALS OF NOT OVER 10 CARBONS, CYCLOALKY RADICALS OF NOT OVER 12 CARBONS, AND ARYLALKY RADICALS OF NOT OVER 12 CARBONS), AND (III) 0-15 MOL PERCENT TO THE ACRYLONITRILE OF OTHER COPOLYMERIZABLE MONOMER OR MONOMERS: AND ALSO TO THE PROCESSES FOR PREPARATION OF SUCH HEATTREATED PRODUCT.
