Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the cold starting of an internal combustion engine in utilizing emulsion fuel by connecting a non-emulsion fuel tank in a conduit interposed between an emulsion fuel tank and a jet pump through a selector valve and allowing free switching for both fuel. CONSTITUTION:To an arbritrary position in the conduits 5 and 9 interposed between an emulsion fuel tank 1 and a jet pump 11, an non-emulsion fuel tank 3 is conneted through a selector valve 7, allowing free switching for emulsion fuel 2 and non-emulsion fuel 4. For example, the emulsion fuel 2 which is prepared by adding water, methanol, and emulsifier to an fuel oil and emulsifying them is supplied to the combustion chamber 15 of an internal combustion engine 14 through a jet nozzle 13, and the engine 14 is driven. Proir to the stop of the engine 14, a selector valve 7 is operated to switch fuel to non-emulsion fuel 4, and the next starting is performed by the use of non-emulsion fuel 4. Thus, through the effective use of emulsion fuel, the difficulties of cold starting of internal combustion engines can be dissolved.
