Abstract: Leather-like sheet has a grain layer formed by a fibre structure and a composite of urethane polymer to occupy cross-sectional area as at least one layer. The fibre structure comprises very fine fibre and/or bundle and the distance of interlacing pt. is less than 200 microns. The urethane polymer contains polyester of mol.wt. 500-5000, which easily forms hydrogen bond in the aq. soln. as soft segment. Under layer of the grain layer is interlaced very fine fibre and the grain layer comprises very fine fibre of the lowest layer where the bundle of the very fine fibre is branched and the branching is continuously changed in boundary of the both layers. The polyester contains more than 5% total soft segment of the urethane polymer. The polyether is pref. polyethylene glycol. The very fine fibre is pref. three-dimensionally interlaced by mechanical and chemical treatments. The branching of the fibre is pref. carried out by contacting with high speed flowing fluid.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an ink applying method for obtaining desired sharp patterns while preventing bleeding and an ink composition therefor, in applying a low viscosity liquid to a polymer product such as fabric in the form of droplets according to the ink jet or spray process. As a treating solution there is used a solution incorporating a water-soluble or water-dispersible material which contains -OSO3M group or -SO3M group as a hydrophilic group in which M is a monovalent metal, ammonium or amine, and a fiber structure is pretreated with a chemical for coagulating the said hydrophilic group, whereby good bleeding preventing effect and deep shading effect even against markedly bleeding fiber structures such as thin fabrics as well as level dyeing effect of colored portions can be attained without impairing the injection characteristic. Sharp patterns equal or superior to conventional prints can be obtained.

Abstract: A process for treating a fibrous structure which comprises at least two components at least one component of which is a polyester containing an SO3M group wherein M represents hydrogen or an alkali metal. The process is characterized in that the fibrous structure is treated with an agent which deteriorates the polyester prior to an alkali treatment for the removal of the polyester component.
