    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve surface strength, a cleaning property and end surface strength, by laminating polyester containing colloidal silica and polyester containing no colloidal silica in a specific range of a thickness ratio in such a state that the crystallization characteristic of both of them is specified and respectively setting the projection height on the surface of the silica-containing polyester and the silica wt. ratio in a shaven substance to specific ranges. CONSTITUTION:A layer (B-layer) containing spherical silica caused by colloidal silica is laminated to the single surface of a polyester layer (A-layer) and the thickness ratio (B/A) of both of them is set to 0.04-1.4, a crystallization ratio (B/A) of both of them is set to 0.04-1.4, a crystallization parameter DELTATcg(B-A) is set to 1-45 deg.C, the projection height of the B-layer is set to 20-150nm and the silica ratio in a shaven substance is set to 0.11 or more. By this method, the hardness to generate powder falling from the surface or end surface of a film (surface or end surface strength) and, further, the cleaning property at the time when the powder shaven from the surface of the film is bonded to a roll are improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title film, containing specific inorganic particles and internal deposited particles, excellent in slipperiness and chipping resistance without surface chipping with increasing machining speed and suitable for packaging, capacitors, magnetic tapes, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed film, obtained by adding (B) a calcium compound, etc., and an acid of phosphorus (ester compound) to (A) an initial stage of polycondensation for reacting a dicarboxylic acid component with ethylene glycol to deposit internal particles and adding (C) 0.005-0.12wt.% heavy calcium carbonate having 0.5-2.0mum average particle diameter and (ii) 0.003-0.1wt.% spherical colloidal silica having 0.3-1.5mum average particle diameter to provide a polyester and drawing the resultant undrawn film at, e.g., 3.3-4.8 times in the longitudinal direction and 3.5-4.6 times in the width direction and having 30.0-80.0 orientation ratio in the width direction of the film.
