    Abstract: Provided is a woven fabric for swimsuits, said woven fabric satisfying various requirements needed as a material for swimsuits, for example, elongation rate, metsuke (weight per unit area), thickness, easiness in moving, durability in use, mechanical strength, anesthetics and so on, and, at the same time, having such a structure design that, when a swimmer wearing a swimsuit formed of said woven fabric swims, microbubbles are generated so that water resistance can be reduced compared with the conventional articles. Disclosed is a woven fabric for swimsuits, which comprises multifilament lines of a synthetic fiber and an elastic fiber, wherein the front face and back face are water-repellent, peaks and valleys are formed on the back face, the difference in height between the peaks and valleys on the back face is 150-650 µm inclusive, and the width of the valleys is 100-5000 µm inclusive.

    Abstract: Provided is a cloth for swimsuits that satisfies various properties (elongation, basis weight, thickness, ease of movement, durability in use, mechanical strength, aesthetics, and the like) required for a material for swimsuits and at the same time has a texture design that generates microbubbles by which water resistance can be more reduced than before when a swimmer swims wearing a swimsuit made of the cloth, the cloth for swimsuits comprising synthetic fiber multifilament yarns and elastic fibers, wherein the front surface and the back surface are water-repellent; bumps and hollows are formed on the back surface; the bumps and hollows on the back surface have a height difference of 150 µm to 650 µm; and the hollows have a width of 100 µm to 5000 µm.
