Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soln.-dyed black polyester compsn. which is excellent in dispersion of the contained carbon black, increases the filtering pressure little, and hardly causes thread breakage during and after spinning by incorporating a specific carbon black into a polyester. SOLUTION: A dicarboxylic acid component and a glycol component contg. 0.1-50wt.% carbon black dispersed therein and having an S content (by fluorescent X-ray analysis; the same applies hereunder) of 1,000-50,000cps, a Ca content of 100-2,000cps, and a Cl content of 100-3,000cps are subjected to transesterification and then to polymn., giving a soln.-dyed black polyester compsn. Thus, the clogging of a filter due to coarse particles formed by the agglomeration of the carbon black can be avoided and the coefficient of surface friction can be controlled by the formation of a suitable unevenness the fiber surface.
