Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to select a sub-image and improve convenience by combing display information meaning that it is not at the stage for changing over a image, when 1st and 2nd program information are not reproduced at reading of disk information, demodulating an output signal from a pickup means, storing the demodulated multi-image composition information, and inputting a change-over signal. SOLUTION: This reproducing device decides whether or not a parental consent mode should be set, and displays a comment picture if should be set. At reproducing of multi-image recorded disk, the reproducing device reads the data of the disk, and at detecting of a code showing the presence of a multi-image in a sub-code, the device refers to link information and decides the presence or absence of a linked program bar. If the program is detected, the device displays an image to the effect that it is not at changeover stage, and when a multi-image is changed over, handleability of operation is improved for a user by displaying data information corresponding to the present.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize reproduction of a multi-scene by mixing, arranging and recording, in unit of program sub-section, program information between a plural ity of streams and then executing the decoding responding to a stream selection information. SOLUTION: The program sub-sections #1, #2 of the multi-scene format are arranged next to the program sub-section #0 and the program sub-sections #1, #2 are recorded in the range of an area TA depending on the reproduction sequence. In the same manner, the program sub-sections #4, #5 of the multi-scene format next to the program sub-section #3 are sequentially arranged and are then stored in a buffer memory 203 of a data stream processor. The program sub-section of the multi-scene format structured as explained above is then sent to a video processor 206 to execute the reproduction of multi-scene by decoding any program information responding to the stream selecting information.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize reproduction of a mu1ti-scene by displaying an identification signal for the first and second program information to generate a first menu image and inputting a secret code to generate a second menu image. SOLUTION: A first program information and a second program information which may be reproduced by replacement with the first program information are recorded in a data area and existence of a previous selecting information from the control data is judged at the end of a program bar. When existence of the multi-scene selecting information is judged, the program bar of the selected scene is reproduced but in the case of the parental consent mode, a secret code input request for canceling this mode is displayed. A masked image is switched to the normal image to reproduce multi.-scene by inputting a secret code to the secret code input image.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a disk reproducing device exclusively used for CD+MIDI disk capable of surely synchronizing respective regenerated sounds by means of an audio signal and a control signal for electronic musical instrument with each other. CONSTITUTION:A signal for adjusting synchronization is recorded on the leading part of main data and sub-code data on a CD+MIDI disk 11 prior to an audio signal and an MIDI signal. The phases of the synchronizing signals of the respective data after signal processing are compared by means of a phase comparator 21 at the time of reproduction and the phase difference signal is fedback to a MIDI decoder 17. A digital memory 20 for temporarily storing the sub-code data and generating optimal timing for sending the MIDI signal to an electronic musical instrument 18 is built in the MIDI decoder 17 and the increase or decrease of the delay time is adjusted according to the output of the phase comparator 21 so that the phase difference of the respective synchronizing signals becomes zero.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure a bit length, by detecting that the counted value of a counter reaches a value corresponding to an about half length of the next bit length and counting the number of clock pulses during the time ending the zero- crossing time in the rise (or fall) direction. CONSTITUTION:The counted value of a counter 9 which is detected by a NAND gate 11 is so set that bit signals having a 3.5-bit length or longer are judged to be 4-bit or longer signals and bit signals having a length shorter than 3.5 bits are judged to be 3-bit signals. When the bit signal reaches the trigger level during rising, a zero-crossing detecting circuit 2A generates an output pulse, and output clock pulses from a clock pulse oscillator 3 are supplied to the counter 9 and are counted; and when the bit signal reaches the trigger level during falling, a zero-crossing detecting circuit 2B generates an output pulse, and the supply of clock pulses to the counter 9 is stopped. The length of the 3-bit signal is measured by the time from the rise zero-crossing time to the fall zero-crossing time of a detection EFM signal.

SOLUTION: When a disk is inserted in this reproducing device, it reads management data in a management area, and stores it in a work memory. When a multi-image recorded disk is reproduced, the device reads the data of the disk, and when it detects a code showing the presence of a multi-image in a sub-code, it refers to link information and decides the presence or absence of a linked program bar. When the multi-images are changed over, an image is displayed by decoding the number of a specified data string to be stored in the work memory and the identification numbers of the disk and the program.
