    Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformly form smooth aluminum film with formation of an uniform process-liquid layer by forming an aqueous solution layer with an aqueous solution having a preset range of surface tension. CONSTITUTION:Surfaces of three color phosphor layers 10B, 10G, 10R are treated with an aqueous solution of surface active agent adjusted to have its surface-tension from 30 to 50dyne/cm so that an aqueous solution layer 22 of surface active agent is formed. Furthermore, an acrylic emulsion solution is sprayed onto the aqueous solution layer 22 of surface active agent so that an acrylic emulsion solution layer is formed. Then, after drying the acrylic emulsion solution layer and the aqueous solution layer of surface active material thereunder, an organic resin film 23 consisting of acryl is formed on the three color phosphor layers 10B, 10G, 10R. After that, an aluminum film 13 is formed by vacuum deposition on the organic resin layer 23. And the organic resin film 23 below the aluminum layer 13 is decomposed to be removed, so that the aluminum film 13 sticks closely to the three color phosphor layers 10B, 10G, 10R.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover a reusable phosphor, by adding hydrogen peroxide to an effluent mainly composed of a phosphor discharged from the step of forming a fluorescent surface, a polyvinyl alcohol, and a salt of dichromic acid, and adjusting the pH value with aq. ammonia. CONSTITUTION:In the step of forming a fluorescent surface for a color picture tube by making use of a phosphor slurry mainly composed of a phosphor, e.g., an Eu-activated rare-earth red phosphor, polyvinyl alcohol and a salt of dichromic acid, 0.1-1.0wt.%, based on the solid matter, of hydrogen peroxide is added to an effluent discharged from this step and the pH value of the effluent is then adjusted to 9-10 by adding ammonia thereto. This decomposes and removes solidified PVA remaining in the phosphor and enables the salt of dichromic acid to be converted into a salt of chromic acid which exhibits a lowered sensitizing activity, so that a phosphor which can be reused like a fresh phosphor can be recovered.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent uneven application of light-absorptive paint so as to provide a phosphor screen excellent in white uniformity by forming a light absorbing layer using specific light-absorptive paint in forming the phosphor screen of a color picture tube. CONSTITUTION:A resist coat 22 having a pattern corresponding to the electron beam through hole 21 of a shadow mask 3 is formed on the inner surface of a panel 1. Light-absorptive paint composed chiefly of carbon is applied to the inner surface of the panel 1 on which the resist film 22 is formed, and is dried to form a light-absorptive paint layer 24. The lightabsorptive paint layer 24 on the resist film 22 are removed along with the resist film 22 to form a light absorbing layer 25 having a gap for forming phsophor layers. Next, phosphor layers 11B, 11G, 11R are formed in the gap of the light-absorbing layer 25. In the above process, ligh-absorptive paint having a carbon concentration of 5 to 6wt.% and whose surface tension at 25 deg.C is adjusted to 35 to 45dyne/cm is used to form the light absorbing layer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating film forming method for a cathode-ray tube enabling a uniform coating film without coating irregularity to be obtained in a short time. SOLUTION: A mounting part is sticked fast to an outer surface of a substantially rectangular bottom part of a panel 11 and supported by a carrier head with the panel 11 inclined and opened obliquely downward. While the carrier head is rotated at 10 to 20 rpm, a filter liquid 20 having a viscosity of 1 to 5 cPs/25 deg.C is spread substantially over the whole of an inner surface 11b of the panel 11. The rotation of the carrier head is stopped for 5 to 10 seconds, the panel 11 is horizontally oriented so that the longitudinal direction thereof runs substantially along the horizontal direction and that flow marks 20a are situated in positions lower than the center of the panel 11. Surplus filter liquid 20 flows on the inner surface 11b and cancels out the flow marks 20a or irregularity. The carrier head is rotated again at 100 to 150 rpm to shake off the surplus filter liquid 20 and the filter film of a uniform coating film is formed. Since the distance the surplus liquid flows out of an effective surface is short, the time can be shortened.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of a shadow mask by taking the shadow mask out of cleaning liquid in a specific facing out angle and speed after feeding gas to the back of the shadow mask. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 4 comprises a mask frame 6 connected to the back of a mask body 5. The mask body 5 is generally formed in concave at its back. And easily deformed due to pressure from its front side. When the shadow mask 4 passes through liquid level 22 in a cleaning liquid 8, after cleaned air 26 of such as 0.1 to 0.7Nm /h is fed to the back of the shadow mask 4. Furthermore, a pull-out angle theta2 of the plane perpendicular to a center axis 23 of the shadow mask 4 in relation to the liquid level 22 is set to 40 to 80 degrees and a pull-out speed is set to 40 to 80mm/sec. Therefore, suppression pressure to a mask face caused by the cleaning liquid is decreased and influence of surface tension is reduced to prevent any deformation of the mask face.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color image receiving tube with high luminousity/contrast as well as with no remaining pigment by perform application of silica colloid solution including multi-value metal ions, and further, by sequentially forming a first, second and third phosphor layers after water wash operation. CONSTITUTION:After the application of silica dispersion liquid including Ca ions or the like of multi-value ions on the whole inside face of a face plate provided with a porous member in the form of dot or stripe on a color absorbing substance coat film, the inside thereof is wasted with pure water and dried. One controlled with blue phosphor having navy blue pigment added thereto is applied to form phosphor layer. Similarly, one with green phosphor as a second color phosphor slurry and one with red phosphor having Indian red pigment added thereto as a third phosphor slurry are sequentially applied to form phosphor layer. It is thus possible to obtain a color image receiving tube with high luminousity/contrast as well as without no remaining pigment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily form a homogeneous slurry film with a given thickness by applying a slurry the surface tension of which is controlled. CONSTITUTION:A slurry film is formed by applying a slurry. The surface tension of the solution of this slurry excluding the phosphor is adjusted to be 40-50dyn/ cm at a temperature of 21 deg.C by controlling the amount of a surface active agent added. By the means mentioned above, a homogeneous slurry film with a given thickness can be easily formed. Furthermore, it is possible to easily produce a fluorescent screen with good white balance by reliably forming a homogeneous slurry film by adjusting the viscosity of the aqueous solution to 5-35cps (at 21 deg.C).
