Abstract: PURPOSE:To decide automatically whether or not the join part of the 1st and the 2nd lead wires is normal by irradiating the join part of the 1st and the 2nd lead wires with light, and finding the difference digitally by the binary- coding processing of the silhouette images of the 1st and the 2nd lead wire parts. CONSTITUTION:The 1st image sensor 13 detects the silhouette image of a 'Dumet(R)' wire 1 of a slag lead wire 3 and the 2nd image sensor 14 detects the silhouette image of a lead wire 2. Controller and driver circuits 15 and 16 output VIDEO1 and VIDEO2, which are converted by binary coding circuits 22 and 29 into binary signals. The value of a counter 39 is denoted as A, the value of a counter 40 is denoted as B, and an arithmetic circuit 41 finds ¦A-B¦. Comparators 42 and 45 compare the lower-limit or upper-limit of ¦A-B¦. When it is smaller than the lower-limit value, the center of the lead wire 2 is too close to the front and when it is larger than the upper-limit value, the center is too close to the rear, so that a defective signal is outputted in either case.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decide the extent of curvature of a filament leg by correcting the inclination of the upper thread leg of image data to parallel with an Y axis and setting standard windows for an upper and a lower filament leg part, and comparing detected area with the upper limit and lower limit of a standard value. CONSTITUTION:Image data on a filament coil 1 which falls naturally is obtained through a flash light emitting device 3, a camera 4, a photosensor 5, and an A/D converter 7 and stored in an image memory 12. An end detecting circuit 13 detects the tip of the upper filament leg of the coil 1 and another point to find the inclination of the upper filament leg of the coil 1 and then corrects the filament leg of the coil 1 to parallel with the Y axis. Then, standard windows W1 and W2 are set where filament legs are present when the filament legs of the coil 1 do not curve and the area of images in the W1 and W2 is calculates and when the area values are both smaller than the preset upper limit value and larger than the lower limit value, it is decided that an article is normal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect unevenness of coated paint positively and integrating the detector in a manufacturing line for automation, by installing an image sensor for developing the image of an article, A/D sensor circuit memory, and calculating means. CONSTITUTION:A beam of light is projected on to an article coated with paint on its surface, an image of the article is picked up by an image sensor. Next, an image signal issued out from the image sensor is converted to a digital signal per each bit by an A/D conversion circuit 24. And, the digital signal fed out of the circuit 24 is stored consecutively in a shift registor 38. For example, if data for 10 bits are stored in the shift registor 38, a difference of data stored by an adder 74 in a position by 2 bits beforehand, adder 75 in a position by 5 bits beforehand, and adder 76 in a position by 8 bits beforehand and the data stored at this time is obtained and this difference is compared with the upper limit standard value by comparators 86, 87, 88 respectively. And, when any value of difference exceeds the upper limit value, gates of the corresponding AND gates 90-92 are opened and a paint coat unevenness detection signal FS is fed out through an SSR (Solid State Relay) 96.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable accurate measurement of a specimen even if an optical reflection property of which is high, by irradiating the specimen by a plurality of irradiating beams provided with different wave-length ranges and by developing an irradiated image created by this by the same wave-length range. CONSTITUTION:Beams of light are irradiated onto a specimen A from sources B, C. Among the beam, a beam on the shorter wave-length side reaches the specimen A after passing through a color-filter FB and reaches a camera D after passing through a color-filter FB set in front of the TV camera D and a shadow corresponding to the specimen A is developed as the image. Similarly, a beam from the source C is brought to image development by a TV camera E, after passing of a beam on the longer wave-length through 2 color-filters FR. And, a beam irradiated from the source B and irradiating onto the specimen A and reflected to the direction of the camera E is not available for passing through the color-filter FR, because of its content of shorter wave-length. Accordingly, development of image on the camera E does not take place. In the same way, a reflected beam from the source C does not lend itself to be developed as an image in the camera D. Thus, the irradiated image can be processed electrically for obtaining the required calculational result.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To securely decide soldering finish quality in a short time by calculating the area of a soldering finished part on the basis of preset window patterns which are divided concentrically and comparing the area with a standard value. CONSTITUTION:The soldering finished part 3a of a lighting tube 3 is photographed by a television camera 4 firstly and converted by a binary circuit 5 into a binary signal, which is stored in an image memory 7. Then, a microcomputer 11 finds the center position of the soldering finished part from position data from a position detecting circuit 8. Then, one of window patterns which are divided concentrically is generated in a pattern memory 13 and area measurement data in the window is read in from an area measuring circuit 12 and compared with the preset window pattern. When the area measurement data satisfies the standard, the window pattern generated in the pattern memory 13 is changed and the same processing is performed to decide that the welding finished part is normal when all of data in the four window patterns meet the standard.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to simultaneously measure various areas classified according to a density level from image data, by setting plurality of bit patterns of the density level of the area to be calculated in a table memory. CONSTITUTION:The image signal from an image sensor detecting an image is converted to digital image data by an A/D converter and said digital data are stored in an image memory. A table memory, in to which a plurality of the bit patterns of the density level of an area to be calculated from image data is set, is provided and the image data stored in the image memory are distributed according to various density levels on the basis of each bit data of the table memory to simultaneously measure respective areas. That is, with expect to all of the image data stored in the image memory 5, an area counter 231 counts the area of an objective imaged finally and an image counter 232 counts the area of a background containing image noise and an image counter 233 counts the area of the image noise and an area counter 234 counts the area of the darkest image in the objective image.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect an image of a large amount of bodies to be inspected at a constant attitude and to input the image to a measuring instrument by passing the bodies to be inspected through a transparent path and detecting their image by an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Filament coils 11 are many bodies to be inspected are fallen intermittently from the upper end of the glass bulb of the transparent conveyance path. The coils 11 are detected by a photosensor 17 in falling and a flash light emitting device 18 illuminates a certain time later. Then, the television camera 19 of the image sensor detects and inputs the image to a control circuit 23. Then, the control circuit 23 processes image information and compares it with reference data to decide whether the information is acceptable or not; and a shutter 14 is operated according to the decision result to sort the coils 11 by conforming and nonconforming articles. Thus, a large number of bodies to be inspected are inspected efficiently at the constant attitude.
