A journal bearing device (10) has upper half pads (21) on an upper half bearing section (20) of a bearing supporting a rotating shaft (50), and also has lower half pads (31) on a lower half bearing section (30). The lower half pads (31) are arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the lower half bearing section (30) with intervals in the circumferential direction of the surface. One of the lower half pads (31) is placed at a position perpendicularly below the rotating shaft (50).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system wherein setting of connection information to each of communication terminals is automatically carried out without human intervention and furthermore, effective utilization of a line can also be attained. SOLUTION: In the communication system, client terminals VC11-VCnn are grouped and while storing in a storage device DB a group table, wherein the group is made correspondent to IP address and connection information of the client terminals VC11-VCnn, the group table in the storage device DB is referenced in initiation using an application server 10, so that only a client terminal VC11, VC21-VCn1 that becomes a representative of each group is notified about an IP address of the application server 10. Connection information is then determined by the application server 10 to be set to the client terminal VC11, VC21-VCn1 that becomes the representative, and corresponding connection information is transmitted from the application server 10 to the client terminal VC11, VC21-VCn1. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device which can surely estimate a transform parameter to convert an image to another image by assuming that the image taken by an imaging device is a road plane even when a gradient of the road plane seen from a vehicle changes. SOLUTION: An image input part 1 inputs stereo images which are images of a front view or rear view of a vehicle taken by two cameras provided on the both sides of the vehicle. An image accumulation part 2 accumulates the input images taken by the two cameras. An image convert part 3 converts the image taken by the left camera accumulated in the image accumulation part 2 using a transform parameter while assuming that the left image is a road plane. An image collation part 4 collates the transformed left image obtained from the image convert part 3 and the right image and outputs the transform parameter which collates best. A condition estimation part 5, a condition memory 6, and a condition prediction part 7 estimate an optimum value of the transform parameter to estimate the current road plane using the transform parameter obtained by the image collation part 4 as an input and using a Kalman filter. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment where it is detected that the cause of communication abnormality is the abnormality of a communication line and it is not necessary to repeat a calling operation for plural times when a user performs the calling operation while communication line abnormality occurs. SOLUTION: When the communication line abnormality restoration/detection means 12 of a communication controller 10 detects the occurrence of the abnormality of the communication line or the restoration, a system control means 14 gives the notice request of the occurrence of communication line abnormally to a user terminal control means 13. The user terminal control means 13 controls a user terminal existing output device 22 through the user terminal I/F 21 of a user terminal 20, and gives information on the occurrence of the abnormality of the communication line. Consequently, the user learns that the cause of communication abnormality is the abnormally of the communication line.

SOLUTION: In an inter-vehicle communication system 1 capable of communicating information among plural vehicles 2 traveling on a road on which infrastructure equipment having sensors and a computer for control and communication processing is not installed, each vehicle 2 is provided with a drive aiding camera 10 (11, 12), mounted on the vehicle 2 itself as drive aid, for photographing images around the vehicle 2 itself and a controller 15 and a communication part 19 for executing processing for detecting traveling related information including at least one of traffic conditions around the vehicle 2 itself and an abnormal event on the basis of the photographed peripheral images and processing for wirelessly transmitting the detected traveling related information to other vehicles.

SOLUTION: This road monitoring device consists of a plurality of picture fetching means 1 and a vehicle corresponding part 2, the part 2 consists of a vehicle type detecting part 3, an inter-vehicle correspondence evaluating part 4 and a traffic information outputting part 5, the part 3 consists of a reference picture registering part 6, a vehicle area extracting part 7 and a vehicle characteristic detecting part 8, the part 4 has a vehicle characteristic converting part 9, a vehicle characteristic collating part 10 and a correspondence deciding part 11, and the part 5 consists of an association information collecting part 12, a speed information calculating part 13 and a traffic volume measuring part 14. The road monitoring device with such a configuration specifies the same vehicle from a plurality of pictures picked up by the means 1 and can grasp the travel state of the road on which the specified vehicle travels.
