The present invention relates to a RFID communication system comprising an interrogator (10) including a signal generator (12) for generating an interrogation signal at a predetermined frequency f 0 and a first interrogator antenna (11) for transmitting said interrogation signal and receiving a first reply signal at a frequency f 0 , and processing means (13), and a passive transponder (20) including a first transponder antenna (21) for receiving said interrogation signal and a chip (22) comprising nonlinear components for generating said first reply signal in response to the interrogation signal, said first reply signal being transmitted by said first transponder antenna. According to the invention, the interrogator is arranged to receive a second reply signal whose frequency is a multiple of the predetermined frequency f 0 , said multiple being either odd or even, said second reply frequency being generated by the nonlinear components of the transponder chip, said first and second reply signals being processed by the processing means of the interrogator in order to complete or improve the functionality of the system.

Suivant un aspect, l'invention concerne un système d'interrogation électromagnétique de transpondeurs RFID (300) comprenant au moins un transpondeur RFID (300), au moins un dispositif RFID dit répéteur (200) et au moins une borne RFID (100), l'au moins une borne RFID (100) est configurée pour émettre un signal d'interrogation vers l'au moins un répéteur (200) à une fréquence F1, l'au moins un répéteur (200) est configuré pour répéter ledit signal d'interrogation de fréquence F1 vers l'au moins un transpondeur RFID (300) à une fréquence F2 et l'au moins un transpondeur RFID (300) est configuré pour émettre un signal de réponse rétrodiffusé à une fréquence F3, le système étant caractérisé en ce que l'au moins un répéteur (200) est configuré pour effectuer une transposition uniquement analogique de fréquence depuis la fréquence F1 vers la fréquence F2.

According to one aspect, the invention relates to a system for electromagnetically querying RFID transponders (300). Said system includes: - at least one RFID transponder (300); - at least one RFID device referred to as a "repeater" (200); and - at least one RFID terminal (100). The at least one RFID terminal (100) is configured to transmit a query signal to the at least one repeater (200) at a frequency F1. The at least one repeater (200) is configured to repeat said query signal at a frequency F1 to the at least one RFID transponder (300) at a frequency F2, and the at least one RFID transponder (300) is configured to transmit a backscattered response signal at a frequency F3. The system is characterized in that the at least one repeater (200) is configured to carry out an analog-only frequency transposition from Frequency F1 to Frequency F2.
