Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for facilitating convenient teleconferencing between users located in different time zones. The system generally comprises three or more mobile devices with an associated server, processor and memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to execute a method which generally involves an inviter proposing a first meeting time with two or more invitees. Based on the proposed time, an ideal time frame for the teleconference is presented to the inviter. The time frame is computed using data regarding the local times of each of the three attendees, thereby determining the most convenient time for all three to attend the teleconference. Once the meeting is started, the inviter reconfirms the current local times at the locations of the invitees. Subsequently, a meeting may be cut short if the local time of any attendees falls within a designated meal time or non-working time.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for testing hearing, vision, and responsiveness of a dog are provided. The systems' components comprise a first, second, third, and fourth projection screen installed on four walls of a confined area; a series of radio-frequency identification (“rfid”) readers installed in a grid pattern on each of the first, the second, the third, and the fourth walls; an rfid tag mounted on a dog collar to be worn by the dog; an accelerometer mounted on the dog collar; a speaker installed on each of the first, second, third, and fourth walls; a processor; and a memory. The system generally uses visual and audio stimuli in order to test the hearing, vision, and physical responsiveness of the dog. The dog's actions are measured by the rfid readers' detecting the movement of the rfid tag on the dog's collar.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for locating and recovering victims during a disaster or crisis. The system generally employs a watch worn by a potential victim that is able to detect heart rate and location. Upon occurrence of a disaster, the watch may be triggered to automatically transmit location and vital information regarding the potential victim wearing the watch. If unable to transmit the aforementioned data, the signal-transmitting portion of the watch may become automatically detached from the victim. At which time a movement mechanism contained within the signal transmitter causes it to move physically to a location with better network and GPS satellite reception. Once able to connect to a network or satellite, the signal transmitter sends the location and vital data for remote access in order to facilitate an informed and efficient rescue of the victim.
Abstract:
This invention is provided to securely control use of electronic devices in aeroplanes. In one embodiment, a system including a secured electronic device provided by an aeroplane for use in a passenger compartment in the aeroplane, whereas use of the device includes downloading information such as net surfing web pages and uploading information such as sending external emails. In the embodiment, the system includes a mobile equipment of a first customer and a mobile equipment of a second customer. The system also includes an outdoor GPS and indoor GPS receivers. Further, a set of three indoor GPS signal emitters are located on separate corners of the passenger compartment are provided. Besides, a GPS antenna, a repeater, and a secured control unit are installed inside the electronic device to include a preconfigured area as an insecure area.
