Abstract: The present invention provides a metal sheet rolling method of rolling a metal sheet with a pair of rolls, as well as a rolled sheet manufactured by the metal sheet rolling method. In the metal sheet rolling method, respective interfaces between the pair of rolls and the metal sheet have mutually different frictions. Additionally at least one of the interfaces may be lubricated by a procedure other than lubrication by coating of a liquid lubricant agent. Alternatively at least one of the interfaces may be subjected to surface treatment by a procedure other than lubrication, or otherwise the pair of rolls may be made of mutually different materials.

Abstract: [PROBLEM] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a reference electrode which is easy to manufacture and handle, its manufacturing method, and an electrochemical cell using this.[METHOD FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM] The reference electrode 10 comprises a core material 11 extending parallel to the anode 14 or the cathode 16 from a terminal, a lithium membrane 12 coating from a tip of the core material 11 to a field with predetermined length, and an insulator 13 partially coating a field uncoated with the lithium membrane 12 on the core material 11. The material consisting of at least a surface of the core material 11 is a conductive material which is substantially unresponsive to lithium or lithium alloy. The maximum width in a cross section of the core material 11 is preferably in the range of not less than 5 micrometers but not more than 50 micrometers, and thickness of the lithium membrane is preferably in the range of not less than 0.1 micrometers but not more than 20 micrometers. By using the core material 11 with higher rigidity than lithium or lithium alloy, handling and manufacturing the reference material 10 is easy, for example, the material can be processed easily and its shape can be stabilized.[SELECTED FIGURE] FIG. 2

Abstract: A process is provided, process which makes it possible to produce lithium-borate-system materials by means of relatively simple means, lithium-borate-system materials which are useful as positive-electrode active materials for lithium-ion secondary battery, and the like, whose cyclic characteristics, capacities, and so forth, are improved, and which have better performance. The present production is characterized in that a divalent metallic compound including at least one member of compounds that is selected from the group consisting of divalent-iron compounds and divalent-manganese compounds, and boric acid as well as lithium hydroxide are reacted at 400-650° C. in a molten salt of a carbonate mixture comprising lithium carbonate and at least one member of alkali-metal carbonates that is selected from the group consisting of potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate, rubidium carbonate and cesium carbonate in a reducing atmosphere.

Abstract: A management apparatus (102) for managing a plurality of actual devices (104-106) and virtual devices (603, 703), each virtual device providing an operation constructed by combining the functions of the plurality of actual devices detects (503, S1104) a change of an optional function of the actual devices. The apparatus changes (502, S1108), in correspondence with the detected change of the optional function, the attribute of the first virtual device including an actual device of which the optional function has been changed. When the second virtual device which has the same attribute as the changed attribute of the first virtual device is determined, the apparatus changes (508, S1115) the configuration of the second virtual device so as to use the actual device. The apparatus inquires (507, S1114) of a user whether or not to reconstruct the second virtual device so as to use the actual device.

Abstract: A method of driving DC plasma display panels according to a DC mode memory system is provided. According to the method, a compensation pulse for eliminating or reducing the contamination of a displayed image resulting from the application of a write pulse is applied to a position close to the write pulse. The method of the present invention has various advantages that the contamination of a displayed image generating in a direction normal to the display screen is eliminated or reduced; when the method is performed according to a DC mode memory system, the light-emission time can be concentrated to reduce the generation of false outlines so that the general image quality can be remarkably improved; and the electrical power required for the application of the maintenance pulse can be saved to thereby improve efficiency.
