Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrochemical cell featuring a large degreee of mechanical flexibility and tolerating repeated bending and folding operations. These technical effects are obtained by: - making the cell thinner: the first and second current collectors (16, 18) are mutually connected via their first and second connecting sections (24, 34) and wherein a distance (d) between first and second connecting sections (24, 34) is equal to or smaller than 50% of the distance (D) between the first and the second collecting sections (20, 30); and - making the cell foldable: at least one of the current collectors comprises at least one indentation which may act as a folding structure (40, 41, 42, 43).
