Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject hollow fiber capable of removing a sheath component with a hot water, excellent in color development property, light weight feeling, gross, stiffness and body, and useful for cloth, etc., by preparing a core component with a basic dyeable polymer having a higher viscosity than that of the sheath component and each of the components to have a prescribed hollowness ratio and a modified cross section. SOLUTION: This sheath core composite hollow fiber consists of two components of a sheath component 1 which is a hot water soluble polymer such as a copolyester, etc., obtained by copolymerizing with 8-14mol% 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid and 10-33mol% isophthalic acid, and a core component 2 which is a non-hot water soluble polymer such as a copolyester obtained by copolymerizing with 0.7-2.4wt.% isophthalic acid containing a metal sulfonate group based on the total dicarboxylic acid component and 0.2-10wt.% polyalkylene glycol component having 90-6000 molecular weight based on a polyester. The core component 2 is a basic dyeable polymer having a higher viscosity than that of the sheath component 1 and also the cross section of the core component has 5-40% hollowness ratio, and the outer peripheral shape thereof is a triangular to a hexagonal modified cross section. Further, a composite ratio of the core component 2 is preferably 40-75wt.%.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugate fiber freed from drawbacks involved in the conventional conjugate fiber technology, esp. capable of giving knitted fabrics of sufficiently sophisticated feeling, dyeable with disperse dye at normal pressures and rich in soft touch feeling and drapability, and also suitable for blending with natural fiber. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber is composed of at least two components: A-component 1 and B-component 2. The A-component 1 is a polymer soluble in hot water, while the B-component 2 is a polymer insoluble in hot water which is dyeable with a disperse dye at normal pressures, being a polyester copolymerized with 6.0-10wt.% of a polyethylene glycol 500-4,000 in average molecular weight. The single fiber fineness after removing the A-component 1 from this conjugate fiber is 0.5-0.05 denier.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject package excellent in unwindability, developing no slack and slippage, thus good in form stability by making a polyester monofilament high in mechanical strength at 10% extension into a package under specified winding conditions. CONSTITUTION: A polyester monofilament 7-40 denier in fineness and >=3.0g/d in tenacity at 10% extension is wound under such conditions as to be 70-90 degree in the drum hardness at the center of package surface layer and higher in the drum hardness at the termini of the package surface layer than that at the center. It is preferable that, in spin-draw process, the monofilament be wound in such conditions as to be 2000-4000m/min winding speed, 0.2-0.5g/d winding tension, 10-13kgw contact pressure to a surface roll 8, and that the distance between a pendulum support guide 6 and the drum surface layer is 2.5-4 times the width of the innermost monofilament layer.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a 3-component conjugated fiber capable of easily dissolving and removing a sea component by hot water and thereby producing high class woven knitted goods having excellent feeling such as a dry touch feeling, a soft feeling, a body, a stiffness and a drapeability and good color developing properties by removing the sea component. SOLUTION: This 3-component conjugated fiber consists of a core component A composed of a highly shrinkable polymer, an island component B composed of a basic-dyeable polymer and a sea component C composed of a hot water-soluble polymer. Further, the dry heat shrinkage of the core component A is set to an excess above 10% over that of the island component B and a single fiber denier of the core component A is regulated to 1-7 d and that of the island component B to 0.01-0.6 d after the sea component is removed. The 3-component conjugated fiber is separated into one core component filament and plural island component filaments and becomes a multifilament having different denier filaments and simultaneously the difference between the shrinkages of the core component A and the island component B is manifested when the 3-component conjugated fiber is treated with hot water and the island component is removed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a latent crimpable conjugate fiber excellent in bulkiness, strechability, drape property and touch feeling and useful for woven fabric, etc., by passing the component A through a spinneret in the longitudinal direction to discharge the component A, introducing the component B from the transverse direction above the position within a prescribed value from a discharge part which is common to the component A and conjugating the components A and B. SOLUTION: In carrying out conjugate spinning of a high-viscosity component A having 0.70-0.85 intrinsic viscosity and a low-viscosity component B having 0.45-0.57 intrinsic viscosity into side by side type, the component A is discharged by passing the component A through a spinneret in the longitudinal direction 1 and the component B is introduced from the transverse direction 2 above the position within 10mm from a discharge part 4 which is common to the component A and the components A and B are conjugated to provide the objective latent crimpable conjugate fiber having (i) >=4 numbers/cm difference between numbers of crimps before and after boiling water treatment, (ii) >=40% apparent shrinkage factor, (iii) >=0.15g/d shrinkage stress, (iv) >=3.0 g/d breakage strength, (v) 40-70% breaking elongation and (vi) 4-10d single fiber denier.
