    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a heat accumulating liquid composition which works stably for a long time and enables the use of a relatively low-temperature heat source, by mixing a dicarboxylic anhydride, a fluoroalcohol, and a dicarboxylic monoester made therefrom. CONSTITUTION:An objective heat accumulating liquid composition is obtained by mixing a dicarboxylic anhydride (A) (e.g., cyclohexanedicarboxylic anhydride), a fluoroalcohol (B) (e.g., trifluoroethanol), and a dicarboxylic monoester (C) obtained by the reaction of component A with component B. With this composition, heat accumulation and heat generation can be performed by the use of an equilibrium reaction system of the formula. The molar ratio of component C to component A is preferably adjusted to be in the range of 99:1-60:40. A catalyst (e.g., hydrochloric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid) is also preferably incorporated into the composition for accelerating the progress of the equilibrium reaction system.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a thermal energy storage material which allows thermal energy storage cycle to be operated stably over a long period of time and provides a relatively low-temperature heat source, by blending a dicarboxylic acid anhydride, an alcohol and a dicarboxilic acid monoester derived from said anhydride and said alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A thermal energy storage liquid compsn. contains a dicarboxylic acid anhydride, an alcohol and a dicarboxylic acid monoester derived form said anhydride and said alcohol. Particularly preferred dicarboxylic acid anhydrides are cyclohexane-dicarboxylic [2,3] anhydride, phthalic anhydride and anhydrides of their derivatives. The alcohols having a b.p. of 50-300 deg.C are preferred when easiness in the separation thereof by evaporation is taken into consideration. The thermal energy storage compsn. can be employed in chemical thermal energy storage by utilizing a method of separating at least part of the alcohol by said separating operation, while externally supplying heat.
