Abstract: The herbicidal composition according to this invention show that a superior weed-killing activity after pre- and post-emergence treatment in soil, coupled with low phytotoxicity towards crop plants is exhibited by novel phenoxyalkylamide derivatives of the formula wherein X : alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, cyano, nitro or propionyl; Y : hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or nitro; Z : phenyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, furyl, thienyl or substituted phenyl where R : alkyl, alkoxy, nitro or halogen; m : 1 or 2 n : 0, 1, 2 or 3; R : alkyl; R : hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or alkoxy, and R3 : hydrogen or alkyl.
