    Abstract: A heat-shrinkable plastics cover, partic. for use over a gas or oil pipeline joint, comprises a rectangular sheet with a pair of tongues along each end edge and with electrical heating element coated with cross-linked polymer and located to cross at right angles the inherent shrink direction of the sheet so that it does not interfere with shrinking. The sheet pref. has a heat-sensitive cross-linkable bonding layer on one surface and on the inner surface of either one of the opposing tongues. The element pref.extends through the sheet and in an upper tongue on one end and a lower tongue on the other.

    Abstract: An electrical heating element material of a sheet form is provided, which is comprised of a web of a synthetic resin having a plurality of metal conductor wires arranged therein in parallel to one another along the longitudinal direction of the web. The web is folded in succession at predetermined intervals along folding lines inclined at a small acute angle to the transverse direction of the web to form a substantially two-layer parallelogrammatic sheet. Considering the small angle, the sheet is, for practical purposes, rectangular. The electrical heating element material is prepared by supplying a plurality of metal conductor wires arranged in parallel to one another into a cross-head type extrusion die, separately supplying a thermoplastic resin into said die, co-extruding the resin together with the wires to form a web, folding the web in succession at predetermined intervals along folding lines inclined at an acute angle to the transverse direction of the web to form the two-layer rectangular sheet, and then, optionally, bonding together the two layers. The electrical heating element material may be used as a heat-shrinkable cover, which is comprised of a heat-shrinkable synthetic resin member and the electrical heating element material combined with the heat-shrinkable resin member substantially over the entire region thereof.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial blood vessel of excellent suturing manipulation with excellent safty and operation, without leakage of blood and serum, by composing it substantially of polyester resin only, with its a specific value of porocity measured in water at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:This artificial blood vessel substantially consists of a polyester resin only and has a porocity less than 15ml/cm .min.1200mmHg measured in water at 37 deg.C. Here, the polyester resin is thermoplastic polyester, and its basement structure is cloth composed of polyester resin fiber and the fiber and the cloth are coated with polyester resin. This artificial blood vessel can be subjected to the surgery without pre-treatment before surgery, easily improves the problems of blood/serum leakage, fever, secular dilation or the like which artificial blood vessel had previously. Also, it prevents the risk for the surface coating peeling off and flowing out and the risk of causing infarct in the peripheral tissue of transplant.
