Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new fiber, containing crystalline and amorphous carbon and silicon-carbon-oxygen substances in a specific proportion as components and excellent in oxidation resistance and wettability for plastics with a high electric conductivity and a small thermal expansion coefficient. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is obtained by mixing (A) an organosilicon polymer prepared by heating dimethylchlorosilane, etc., in an inert gas with (B) a polycyclic aromatic compound such as petroleum-based pitch, reacting both at, e.g. 250-500 deg.C, providing a random copolymer, mixing the resultant random copolymer with (C) a polyacrylonitrile-based polymer, spinning the prepared mixture and then infusibilizing and burning the spun fiber. Abstract: PURPOSE:To pulverize a refrigerant injected from nozzles for jetting the refrigerant finely, and to improve the efficiency of heat exchange, by a method wherein a rotary drum with the nozzles in revolved at high speed in a box body to which brine is filled. CONSTITUTION:A rotary drum 9, to whose circumferential surface nozzles 10 are mounted in projecting shapes, is arranged to a lower portion of a crystal pan 1. One end of shafts 12 of the rotary drum 9 is hollowly formed, and connected to a conduit 5 of a liquefied refrigerant through a rotary joint 15. A pulley 16 is fixed to the other outer end of the shaft 12, and a belt 19 is stretched between the pulley 16 and a pulley 18 fastened to an output shaft of a motor 17. The liquefied refreigerant dispersed as minute particles from the nozzles 10 deprives brine of heat, evaporates and floats, and is discharged from a discharge port 6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a golf club head having a face insert excellent in repulsion properties and durability by using either one of two kinds of specific fibers as the reinforcing fiber of the face insert. CONSTITUTION:In a golf club head consisting of a face insert 1 made of a fiber reinforced resin, a core 2 and a sole plate 3, the reinforcing fiber of the face insert 1 is composed of a C-SiC fiber and/or a C-SiC-MC fiber (M is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Ti, Zr and Hf). The C-SiC fiber and the C-SiC-MC fiber shows excellent resin adaptability, for example, good wettability and adhesiveness as compared with a conventional carbon fiber by SiC and MC finely dispersed in the fiber in spite of high strength and high elasticity. Therefore, the face insert 1 composed of a fiber reinforced resin containing the inorg. fiber as a reinforcing fiber shows excellent repulsion properties and durability.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title shaft with a good torsion-characteristic and with a high shock-resistance, by a method wherein the reinforcing fiber for a tubular shaft consists of C-SiC fiber and/or C-SiC-MC fiber (M is selected from among elements of Ti, Zr and Hf). CONSTITUTION:For a tubular shaft made of fiber reinforced resin, its reinforcing fiber consists of C-SiC fiber and/or C-SiC-MC fiber (M is at least one element selected from among a group of elements of Ti, Zr and Hf). The C-SiC fiber is an inorganic fiber obtained from a polycyclic aromatic polymer containing silicon, and the C-SiC-MC fiber is another inorganic fiber obtained from the polycyclic aromatic polymer containing metal, the polymer of which contains at least one element selected from among a group of elements of titanium, zirconium and hafnium, and silicon. Although these C-SiC fiber and C-SiC-MC fiber have high strength and high elasticmodulus, they have excellent plastic compatibility owing to SiC and MC which are finely scattered in the fiber. In this way, a good torsion-characteristic and high impact-resistance is given to the title shaft.
