Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved container configured to maintain dental instruments in a sterile state. SOLUTION: The open container for holding dental instruments is provided with a container body and a lid. The lid is configured to close the container when placing the lid while covering the open end of the container. Besides, the lid is configured to stabilize the container in a upright position when placing the lid while covering the bottom of the container. The lid is flared and generally provides a support greater than the bottom of the container does for making the container stand upright. One piece of tapes is used for sealing and resealing the lid on the container. A foam material (e.g., open cell foam) stored in the container is used for holding the dental instruments. A disinfecting solution stored in the container disinfects the dental instruments held in the container. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot curing lens which can be used together with a dental curing device for spot curing an overlay, inlay, veneer, crown, or other dental appliance to a patient's tooth. SOLUTION: The spot curing lens 10 includes a base part 12, a lens main body 14, a wall 16, and a spherical focusing lens 18 placed in the hollow inside defined by the lens main body 14. The base part 12 is constructed so as to allow the lens 10 to be removably attached to an illuminating device. The spot curing lens 10 is attached to an intermediate focusing lens 19 which really itself is (integrally or detachably) attached to the illuminating device. The intermediate lens 19 is an arbitrary one and the spot curing lens 10 can be directly attached to the illuminating device by a desired attaching means widely known in this technical field. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flocked file for clearing injury of a dental root canal during endodontic treatment, in total. SOLUTION: This flocked file 70 includes a shank 72 having a peripheral face 74, and fiber 76 installed to the peripheral face 74 by a method such as transplantation. The peripheral face 74 has at least one flocked face segment 80. The peripheral face 74 includes the flocked face segment 80 dispersed with the fiber 76 over the segment 80, and at least one grinding face segment 78 suitable to grind or scrape a wall of the dental root canal. The fiber 76 can be made of various materials, and can have various textures, deniers and lengths, and flexibility. The fiber 76 rubs out and removes a potential stimulus of a dental root canal structure including a recessed region 40 and a accessory canal 50 without unnecessary reshaping or without requiring removal of dentin from the dental root canal. The fiber 76 captures removed debris 90 and carries out the debris 90 from the dental root canal.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to minimize pain during penetration into a tissue at the base of a tooth, and also to minimize the tendency of a needle to bend or buckle during insertion into a dense and tough ligamentary tissue.SOLUTION: There is disclosed an injection needle device for administering a local anesthetic into tough, dense ligamentary tissue surrounding a tooth. The injection needle is a two-part needle (104) that includes a proximal needle portion (106) formed of metal, ceramic or rigid plastic, and a distal needle portion (108) formed of ceramic or metal with a high degree of hardness. The distal penetrating needle portion (108) has an exposed length of about 8 mm or less, and a maximum outside diameter of about 25 gauge. At a transition between the proximal needle portion (106) and the distal needle portion (108) there can be an abrupt stop surface (110) for limiting penetration through a tissue. Alternatively, the proximal needle portion (106) can have a tapered surface that permits penetration of the tapered surface into a tissue. The injection needle device is designed to minimize pain and prevent buckling of the distal needle portion (108).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with constant replenishment of dental agent by setting a thin soft plastic sheet material forming a dental tray from a stone model for a tooth, a coating material having a reservoir formed in the dental tray, and a dental composition to be put in the dental tray as a dental kit. SOLUTION: A thin coating 10 of a rigid material is applied on a stone model 12 on the surface for a tooth to be treated and the coating 10 is so set as to keep an interval of approximately 1mm from a gum line 16. A dental tray 22 is formed in vacuum from a die and made of a soft transparent vinyl material. The tray 22 is so formed that a small clearance on the gum line 16 is trimmed and approximately 1/4mm-1/3mm of the boundary between the gum is coated, however, the tray 22 does not cover the interteeth papillae. In this case, a thin soft plastic sheet material forming a dental tray from a stone model 12 for a tooth, a coating material having a reservoir formed in the dental tray 22, and a dental composition to be put in the dental tray 22 are set as a dental kit.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a controlled flow rate when pushing a fluid composition from a syringe. SOLUTION: This delivery tip is provided with a hub 62 formed to be engaged with one end 38 of a syringe delivery apparatus and having a base part 54, an end part and a passage 70 penetrating through the inside, a canula 68 connected to the end part 66 of the hub 62 and having a hollow part 74 connected to the passage 70 of the hub 62 via fluid, and a limit part 76 in the hub passage having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the hollow part of the canula 68. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with constant replenishment of dental agents and eliminate any inconvenience by arranging a dental tray which is formed in such a state as finished at the gum line or a part lower than the gum line of a user on the teeth of the user, providing a recessed part inside the dental tray, and holding a dental composition therein. SOLUTION: A thin coating 10 of a rigid material is applied on a stone model 12 on the surface of a tooth to be treated and the coating 10 is so set as to keep an interval of approximately 1mm from the gum line 16. A cut end 18 and an occlusion end 20 are eliminated from being coated in applying the rigid coating material and the vertical movement of a dental tray 22 caused by contact with a finished tray can be prevented in using. The dental tray 22 is formed in vacuum from a die and made of a soft transparent vinyl material. A reservoir is provided in the tray 22 and surplus bleaching agent is fed to a tooth necessary for whitening rather than other teeth of a teeth bow and a selected part of a tooth necessary for whitening than other part.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for bleaching the surface of teeth of a person intending to make the appearance of the surface of the teeth beautiful. SOLUTION: A prescribed amount of a dental bleaching composition is placed in a dental tray, which is then arranged on the tooth surface so as to bring a part of the composition into contact with a tooth to be bleached. Thereby, the dental tray is arranged on the tooth surface. After the passage of a prescribed time, the dental tray is removed from the tooth to bleach the tooth. The dental bleaching composition comprises about 3 to about 20 wt.%, preferably about 4 to about 15 wt.% carbamide peroxide as a dental bleaching agent and a matrix material containing about 3.5 to about 12 wt.%, preferably about 4.5 to about 10 wt.% carboxypolypolymethylene as the matrix material for dispersing the bleaching agent therein. The carboxypolymethylene contained therein at the concentration has a high viscosity and is hardened when brought into contact with a saliva to form a seal around the dental tray. Thereby, the composition is held in a state thereof in contact with the tooth surface.
Abstract:
A system (100) for containing, storing, and dispensing a dental composition that becomes less stable upon mixing and storage. The system (100) is able to record a mixing and/or expiration date on at least a portion of the mixing system (100) so as to indicate a shelf-life of the less stable mixed dental composition. For example, system (100) includes a syringe (104) and an activatable time sensitive label (106). Label (106) includes a length of microporous material (108) and a tinted liquid (110) contained in a blister (112). Label (106) is activated by causing the tinted liquid (110) to contact the microporous material (108) by pressing blister (112).
