Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for the pretreatment suitable for the forming the ceramic heat insulating coating on a superalloy member. SOLUTION: The method for the pretreatment comprises first degreasing the surface of a superalloy member containing Al in an amount sufficient to form alumina by oxidation and elements such as Y, Hf, Ce and La in a total content of 0.1-0.9 wt.%, which have been added to improve the structure of the superalloy, by heating, removing the formed oxide film on the surface by abrading using a wet grit blast, removing the abrasive by ultrasonic cleaning in a aqueous solution containing a wetting agent, further, after successively rinsing the surface in pure water containing the wetting agent, in pure water and in a water-soluble organic solvent, drying with air and finally heating the superalloy member in an atmosphere, which is inert to the superalloy and alumina and has a dew point of -30--50 deg.F (-34--46 deg.C), to form an alumina film having a thickness of about 0.5-1.5 μm.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for manufacturing articles consisting of columnar crystals, and the above articles having an adequate strength and at least equivalent oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, compared to the corresponding article consisting of a single crystal. SOLUTION: Corrosion and oxidation resistant, high strength, directionally solidified superalloy alloys and articles are described. The articles have a nominal composition in weight percent of about 12% Cr, 9% Co, 1.9% Mo, 3.8% W, 5% Ta, 3.6% Al, 4.1% Ti, 0.015% B, 0.1% C, up to about 0.02% Zr, balance essentially nickel, and include no intentional additions of hafnium or zirconium, and also have a small amounts of tantalum carbide. The resultant articles have good hot corrosion resistance and superior oxidation resistance and creep properties. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of producing a single-crystal body improved in high temperature durability and heat treatment stability by providing a chemical composition in which respective amounts of Cr, Al, Ti satisfying specific relationship with respect to the sum of Al and Ti and the ratio between them, Ta, W, Mo, Nb, Hf, and Re are specified and C, B, Zr, and V are not added and Co for stabilization and Ni as a balance component are incorporated. SOLUTION: In this composition, 5-12% Cr, 2-8% Al, =4% and the ratio between Al and Ti becomes at least 1:1, 5% and also Co for stabilization and Ni as a balance component are contained. Preferably, 7-12% Cr, 3-7% Al, 1-5% Ti, 1-8% Ta,
