    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved array of flow directing elements for a turbomachine, which provides a passive flutter control. SOLUTION: The row of flow guide elements includes a plurality of flow guide elements (10, 12) fixed on a rotor disc. A plurality of the flow directing elements (10, 12) include a first group of the first flow directing elements (10), that have been improved of the natural vibration by having a piece of material removed from a leading edge end region (22), and a second group of the second flow directing elements (12) that have the natural frequency improved by having a piece of material removed from a midspan leading edge region (24). Further, in this row are included unmodified flow directing elements disposed along with the improved flow directing elements.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved row of flow directing elements (10, 12) used in turbomachinery devices. SOLUTION: The row of flow directing elements for which flutter stability has been improved includes at least one high-frequency flow directing element (10) and at least one low frequency flow directing element (12). In a preferred embodiment, the row includes a plurality of alternately installed high-frequency and low-frequency flow directing elements (10, 12). The three lowest frequency vibration modes for the respective high-frequency flow directing elements (10) are higher in frequency at least by 2.0% than the three lowest frequency vibration modes for the respective low frequency flow directing elements (12). The row of this invention is of value especially as a part of a rotor stage in a turbo machinery device.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flow guide member capable of suppressing the vibration of a stator vane in a turbo machine. SOLUTION: The row of fluid guide members is composed of a plurality of flow guide members fixed to a disk, extended in the periphery of the disk, and forming a circular pattern comprising four quadrant parts. Each of a first quadrant part and a second quadrant part is positioned between a third quadrant part and a fourth quadrant part, and the mass of each flow guide member in the first quadrant part and the second quadrant part is larger than the mass of each flow guide member in the third quadrant part and the fourth quadrant part. The flow guide members are arranged so that the number of the flow guide members in each of the first quadrant part and the second quadrant member is fewer than the number of the flow guide members in each of the third quadrant part and the fourth quadrant part.
