Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of an engine without changing a hardware. SOLUTION: This method for starting a gas turbine 10 includes a step to command the rapid transient response of a fuel amount supplied to an engine combustion chamber 24, a step to retain fuel at a high level when an engine ignition system is operated and a step to command the reduction of a fuel amount equal to fuel obtained during a conventional starting method. An extent of transient increase depends on the operational environment and operational conditions of the engine 10. An increasing rate corresponds to the substantial step change of the fuel amount commanded, and a decreasing rate is not more than the increasing rate.
