Abstract: Foreign material is dislodged from a hard to reach region of an object by passing a rigid (24) elongated tubular guide in close proximity to the hard to reach region. The upper tip of the guide is bent so that it can be directed at the hard to reach region and a wire (32) is passed through the guide into the hard to reach region. The lower portion of the wire that extends outwardly from the bottom of the guide and the wire is rotated at a speed sufficient to dislodge unwanted foreign material from the hard to reach region.

Abstract: A molded tooling fixture (10) for supporting an airfoil (16) during an electrochemical stripping process comprises a holder (14) for receiving the airfoil, which holder (14) has a slot (24) in which a serrated portion of the airfoil is positioned. The holder (14) is formed from an electrically non-conductive material such as molded plastic. The slot (24) has at least one serrated surface (28,30) which mates with at least one serration (22) on the airfoil (16). The fixture (10) further includes a support arm (12) on which the holder (14) is supported. The support arm (12) is also formed from an electrically non-conductive material such as molded plastic. Still further, the fixture (10) includes a rod (80) formed from an electrically conductive material which sits in a groove (68) in the support arm (12) and which contacts a lower surface (86) of the airfoil (16).
