Abstract: Described is a method of providing a prognosis for a subject having or suspected of having breast cancer by determining the level of one or more biomarkers in a test sample. A difference or similarity in the level of one or more biomarkers in the test sample with a control is used to provide a prognosis for the test subject. Also described are methods of identifying a subject with breast cancer who is responsive to hormone treatment. Optionally, the biomarkers include Decorin (DCN) and/or Endoplasmin (HSP90B1). Also described are kits and compositions that include biomarker-specific detection agents useful for performing the methods described herein.
