Abstract: According to embodiments described herein, control of the auxiliary power system in a hybrid power plant (310) is provided by determining a grid-draw threshold from an external power grid (320); monitoring power consumption for powered systems (312, 313) of the hybrid power plant (310); monitoring power generation of the hybrid power plant (310); discharging an alternative power source of one or more of an Energy Storage System, ESS, (314) and an auxiliary generator (315) in response to the power consumption exceeding the grid-draw threshold; and implementing prediction algorithms for power generation of the hybrid power plant (310) and the power consumption. Accordingly, a source of power is managed between several alternative sources (314, 315) and the external power grid (320) to meet plant operator defined criteria when maintaining power in various wind speed conditions.
