Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for controlling injection and absorption of reactive power in a wind power plant (WPP). In addition to wind turbine generators (WTG), the wind power plant comprises reactive power regulating devices, such as MSU and STATCOM devices. The reactive power regulating devices are controlled by wind power plant controller so that the combined amount of reactive power produced by the wind turbine generators and the reactive power regulating devices satisfies a desired amount of reactive power. In case of communication fault between the power plant controller and one of the reactive power regulating devices, the power plant controller is reconfigured so as to compensate the capability of the reactive power regulating device to inject or absorb the amount of reactive power.
Abstract:
A wind power plant connected to an electric grid. A central plant controller is con- figured to carry out a method of controlling an electric output of the wind power plant in the event of a transient low-voltage fault of the electric grid. The central plant controller is configured, after a fault stage in response to detection of a low-voltage fault during which the wind turbines ride through the grid fault, to control the wind power plant during a post-fault-support stage to provide only real power, or perform voltage control. The central plant controller is configured to resume control of the wind power plant according to the nominal-grid operation mode, which prevailed before the low-voltage fault, in a nomi- nal-grid operation stage.
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of avoiding that wind turbine voltage levels within a wind power plant do not exceed predetermined overvoltage and/or undervoltage protection levels. In particular, the present invention relates to shifting of an output voltage level of a wind power plant in order to protect an internal power plant grid against overvoltages.

The method comprises the steps of: setting up (101 ) a number of different models, each model emulating an electrical behaviour of an electrical system, such as a load or a power generating unit, connected to the power grid; detecting (102) value(s) of a number of power grid parameters; selecting (103) one of the number of models, based on a number of values out of a set comprising the detected power grid parameter value(s) and ambient parameter value(s), or based on an external command signal; in the selected model, calculating (104) electrical output values of the model, based on the detected grid parameter values; calculating (105) electrical reference values for the wind power plant, based on the calculated electrical output values of the model; and calculating (106) electrical reference values for each wind turbine generator based on the calculated electrical reference values for the wind power plant. The method may further comprise controlling (107) the wind turbine generators according to the calculated electrical reference values for each wind turbine generator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for wind turbine generators for reducing electrical disturbances in the form of power variations which are caused by damping controllers arranged the compensate structural oscillations by inducing shaft torque variations. The shaft torque variations are generated by imposing corresponding variations in a generator set-point, e.g. a power or torque set-point. Variations in the generator set-point cause undesired variations in the power injected to the grid by one or more wind turbine generators. According to an embodiment of the invention the electrical disturbances may be reduced by limiting a damping controller's control action. The amount of limitation or restriction of the damping controller may be determined on basis on electrical disturbance information determined from power measured e.g. at a location on the grid.

The present invention also relates to a wind power plant arranged to perform the method.

The invention also relates to a method for damping oscillations with wind turbine generators.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for damping grid oscillations. The oscillations may be damped by controlling e.g. wind turbine generators to inject power to the grid in anti-phase with the grid oscillations. Instead of controlling one or more wind turbine generators to generate the same anti-phase power signal, a plurality of wind turbine generators are controlled so that each of them only generates a part of the anti-phase power signal, but so that all of the wind turbine generators in combination generates the entire anti-phase power signal.
Abstract:
A method of controlling an electric output of a wind park is carried out jointly by wind turbines with their local wind-turbine controllers and a central wind-park controller. The central wind-park controller generates a reference value for a wind turbine, based on the measured value of an electric quantity at a point of common measurement, and provides it to the local wind-turbine controller. The local wind-turbine controller produces a voltage or a reactive-power in the electric grid at the location of the wind turbine corresponding to the reference value, but which is corrected by a local correction. The local correction takes into account a voltage or a reactive-power change expected at the point of common measurement for the electric current supplied by the wind turbine due to the electric impedance of the grid connection to the point of common measurement.
