Abstract: Techniques for setting up network components in a wind power plant communication network. The communication network comprises a plurality of network components each comprising a component type identifier and being suitable for serving a function which can be changed by a configuration command, and a perimeter component configured for communication with the plurality of network components and configured for communication with an external server outside the wind power plant communication network. The external server has access to a list of component types and at least one corresponding configuration for each network component. One technique includes collecting, by use of the perimeter component, the component type identifier from a plurality of the network components, comparing, by the server, the collected component type identifier with the list of component types of the external server, receiving corresponding configuration information from the external server, and configuring the network component based on the received configuration information.
