    Abstract: A turner gear arrangement (60) for turning a rotor of a wind turbine via a drivetrain thereof; said turner gear arrangement (60) comprising a motor (68), a torque transmission assembly (90), and a mounting assembly (80); said torque transmission assembly (90) comprising one or more rotational elements and including a turner output drive (92) rotating about an axis (R), said turner output drive (92) being operably coupled to and driven by said motor (68) and configured to transmit rotational motion to a gearbox output shaft of a said drivetrain, said turner output drive (92) further including an output guide portion (94); said mounting assembly (80) being configured to mount said motor (68) and said transmission assembly (90) in a fixed relation with respect to a wind turbine drivetrain; and wherein said mounting assembly (80) further includes a radial support interface (86) which operably engages with said output guide portion (94), to constrain movement of said turner output drive (92) in a direction transverse to its rotational axis (R). Also a wind turbine drivetrain arrangement, comprising a drivetrain (20) including a rotor shaft (26) fixable to a wind turbine rotor hub (8), a gearbox (22) and a drivetrain housing, wherein the rotor shaft (26) is coupled to the gearbox (22) at a gearbox input coupling, and wherein the gearbox (22) includes an output drive shaft (38) defining a rotational axis (R); the drivetrain arrangement further comprising a turner gear (60).

    Abstract: A jacking tool (70, 162, 174) for a wind turbine component (60) having an outer housing (62) and an internal rotatable member (64) disposed in the outer housing (62) and rotatable about a rotational axis (66) is disclosed. The jacking tool (70, 162, 174) includes a support pin (74, 164, 176) having a proximal end and a distal end that includes a bearing (112). The support pin (74, 164, 176) is configured to be selectively movable relative to the outer housing (62). The bearing (112) is configured to contact the internal rotatable member (64) to support the internal rotatable member (64) relative to the outer housing (62), and to allow the internal rotatable member (64) to rotate within the outer housing (62) while being supported by the jacking tool (70, 162, 174).

    Abstract: An electrical power generator for a wind turbine comprising: a generator housing, a stator at a radially outward position and a rotor in a radially inward position, wherein the rotor comprises a cylindrical ring structure arranged about a rotational axis, R, and defining a central hollow portion. The electrical power generator further comprises a rotor shroud attached to the generator housing and which extends about the rotational axis, R, wherein the rotor shroud includes a dome portion that extends into the central hollow portion of the rotor so as to protect the cylindrical ring structure of the rotor. Advantageously, the rotor shroud provides a tunnel-like surface that extends into the central hollow portion of the generator so as to prevent objects such as tools from contacting components of the rotor. The invention also relates to a method for 15 assembling such an electrical power generator with a rotor shroud.

    Abstract: A blade access system (24) includes a support frame (28) configured to be coupled to a nacelle (14) of a wind turbine (10), the support frame (28) having at least one connecting member (42) configured to be selectively attached to and detached from at least one connecting member (40) included with the nacelle (14). A nacelle (14) includes at least one connecting member (40) configured to be coupled to at least one connecting member (42) of a support frame (28) of a blade access system (24). The at least one support frame connecting member (42) is configured to cooperate with the at least one nacelle connecting member (40) to define an unlocked position which is configured to allow the support frame (28) to attach to and detach from the nacelle (14), and a locked position which is configured to prevent the support frame (28) from detaching from the nacelle (28). A method of connecting the blade access system (24) to the nacelle (14) is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A turner gear assembly (52) for turning an unbalanced rotor of a wind turbine (10) having a drivetrain (30). The turner gear assembly (52) includes a turner gear (50) configured to couple to the drivetrain (30) and having at least two motors (58a, 58b), and a valve block (78) connectable to the turner gear (50) and having a first flow control valve (106) configured to be in fluid communication with a pump (80) and with the at least two motors (58a, 58b). The first flow control valve (106) is selectively moveable between a first fluid control position (106a) and a second fluid control position (106b). When the first flow control valve (106) is in the first fluid control position (106a), the at least two motors (58a, 58b) operate in parallel and when the first flow control valve (106) is in the second fluid control position (106b), the at least two motors (58a, 58b) operate in series. A method of operating the turner gear assembly is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A transportation arrangement (10) includes a truck (32) and a trailer (34) operatively coupled to each other for hauling a blade. A separate dolly vehicle (36) is coupled with the truck and trailer. The transportation arrangement (10) also includes a blade (24) extending between a root end (38) and a tip end (40), wherein a root region (25) of the blade (24) proximate the root end (38) is supported on one of the trailer (34) or dolly vehicle (36) so as to span between the trailer and dolly vehicle. The root region (25) of the blade is pivotable relative to the support element about a first vertical axis (V1) spaced apart from the root end (38). The tip region (29) of the blade (24) proximate the tip end (40) is pivotable relative to the support element about a second vertical axis (V2). At least a portion of the root region (25) and at least a portion of the tip region (29) are configured to extend laterally away from the side of the transportation arrangement when the trailer (34) and dolly vehicle (36) are longitudinally offset from each other.
