Abstract:
An astragal (10; 310; 410; 510) for attachment between a movable closure member (11; 111; 311; 411; 611) and a fixed surface having a sealing device and having an electrical switching device to signal engagement with an object including a retainer (15; 115; 315; 415; 615) secured to one of the closure member and the fixed surface, an elongate arcuate sealing member (30; 330; 430; 530; 630; 730; 830; 930) for engaging the other of the closure member and the fixed surface when in close proximity, the arcuate sealing member selectively affixed to the retainer, a resilient carrier (45; 345; 445; 545; 645; 745; 850; 950) disposed within said arcuate sealing member, and at least one electrically conductive strip (46; 346; 447; 547; 651; 746; 846; 946) attached to the carrier in unobstructed facing relation to an electrically conductive contact (20; 120; 320; 448; 548; 620) and temporarily movable into engagement with the electrically conductive contact when an object displaces said arcuate sealing member and the resilient carrier to effect electrical contact therebetween.
Abstract:
An overhead door system (210) for moving a sectional door (D') having top, bottom and intermediate hinged panels (221, 222, 223, 224) between a closed vertical position proximate a door frame (212) and an open horizontal position including a substantially vertical track section (251) for engaging a plurality of rollers (237) attached to and spaced from the bottom and intermediate panels, a curved transition track section (253) commencing at the upper extremity of the vertical track section for changing the direction of travel of the plurality of rollers, a first horizontal track section (255) extending from the transition track section for receiving the plurality of rollers to support the door in the open horizontal position, a second horizontal track section (260) for guiding a top panel roller (232) positioned proximate the top (231) of the top panel from the open position to the closed position of the door, and a rear counterbalancing system (280) mounted proximate the ends (264) of the horizontal track sections remote from the door frame and operatively interrelated with the door.
Abstract:
A jamb bracket (10, 40) and track (30, 60) assembly for the support of overhead sectional doors and the like. The assembly comprises bracket means (10, 40) having tab means (20, 50) and track means (30, 60) having tab slots (34, 74). The tab means (20, 40) engage the tab slots (34, 74) for attachment of the bracket means (10, 40) to the track means (30, 60). A related jamb bracket (10, 40) comprises a U-shaped main body (14, 44), providing first and second perpendicularly disposed legs (16, 46 and 18, 48) and, tab means (30, 60) offset from the main body (14, 44).
Abstract:
A counterbalancing mechanism (10) for a door (D) movable between a closed position proximate a door frame (12) and an open position displaced therefrom including a pair of drums (100, 100) for reeving lengths of cable (C) thereabout which are affixed to the door (D), shafts (70) for freely rotatably mounting the drums thereon, a pair of brackets (60, 60) mounted in spaced relation on the door frame, one of the brackets supporting each of the pair of shafts, a drive tube (30) extending between the pair of drums and being non-rotatably affixed thereto, a coil spring (80) positioned interiorly of the drive tube, said coil spring having one end (82) thereof non-rotatably affixed to the drive tube and the other end (81) non-rotatably affixed to the shaft, and a tension adjusting mechanism (110) for normally restraining the shafts and for effecting rotation of the shafts to selectively adjust the torsional forces in the coil spring.
Abstract:
An overhead door system (310) including a sectional door (D") having top, bottom, and intermediate panels (321, 322, 323, 324) hinged for moving between a closed vertical position and an open horizontal position, top rollers (332) on the top panel, bottom rollers (341) on the bottom panel, intermediate rollers (337) positioned between the top rollers and the bottom rollers, inner vertical tracks (351) for engaging the intermediate rollers, transition tracks (353) commencing at the upper extremity of inner vertical tracks curving through an angle of approximately ninety degrees for directing the travel of the intermediate rollers, horizontal tracks (355) extending from the transition tracks for engaging the intermediate rollers to support the door in the open horizontal position, and outer vertical tracks (357) for guiding the bottom rollers in a substantially vertical path when moving between the open horizontal position and the closed vertical position of the door.
Abstract:
A track system (110) for a door (120) having a plurality of panels including a top panel (121) and a hinge connected adjacent panel (122), having an inner side for attaching mounting hardware and being movable between a closed vertical position proximate a door frame and an open horizontal position including a substantially vertical track (111) adapted to be displaced from the door frame (F) a distance sufficient for receiving a plurality of rollers (142, 152, 162, 165) attached to and spaced from the inner side of the door, a transition track (112) commencing at the upper extremity of the vertical track and curving through an angle of substantially ninety degrees for receiving a top roller (132) positioned proximate the upper extremity of the top panel and spaced from the inner side thereof a distance greater than any of the plurality of spaced rollers, and a horizontal track (114) extending from the transition track and having a curvilinear configuration for maintaining the top panel and the adjacent panel of the door pivoted about the hinge to remain them downwardly concave during traverse of the rollers therein.
