Abstract: Apparatus and methods for drilling with casing. In a first embodiment, a method for drilling with two concentric casing is disclosed. In a second embodiment, methods and apparatus for deflecting casing using a diverter apparatus are disclosed. In another embodiment, the apparatus comprises a motor operating system disposed in a motor system housing, a shaft operatively connected to the motor operating system, the shaft having a passageway, and a divert assembly disposed to direct fluid flow selectively to the motor operating system and the passageway in the shaft. In another aspect, methods and apparatus for directionally drilling a casing into the formation are disclosed. Methods and apparatus for measuring the trajectory of a wellbore while directionally drilling a casing into the formation are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for deflecting a wellbore while drilling with casing, including a casing with a drilling member at a lower end of the casing, the drilling member having fluid paths extending therethrough whereby an asymmetric outflow distribution is generated through the drilling member due to a first portion of the drilling member having more fluid paths than a second portion of the drilling member. In one method, a cavity is formed away from a central axis of the wellbore and the casing is deflected towards the cavity. Thereafter, cement is pumped into the wellbore.

Abstract: The present invention generally provides an inexpensive method for drilling a multilateral wellbore (1) where the pressure exerted on a formation of interest (7) by a downstream tanks, there is a greater6 where the pressure exerted on a formation of interest (7) by a column of drilling fluid may be controlled. In one aspect, a method for drilling a lateral wellbore (15) from a main wellbore (16) is provided, including running a string of casing (5) with an injection line (10) connected thereto into the main wellbore, wherein the injection line is disposed along an outer side of the casing and a portion of the casing corresponding to a starting depth of the lateral wellbore is made from a drillable material; running a drillstring (20) through the casing to the starting depth of the lateral wellbore, wherein the drillstring comprises a drill bit (30); injecting drilling fluid through the drill sting; and injecting a second fluid, having a density less than that of the drilling fluid, through the injection line at a rate corresponding to an injection rate of the drilling fluid to control hydrostatic pressure exerted by a column of the drilling fluid and the second fluid returning through the casing.
