Abstract: An improved swaged wire rope is produced by winding in a predetermined manner a plurality of strands about a flexible core of greater diameter than that of said strands and swaging the so formed wire rope construction until a smooth, void-free exterior surface of the rope is obtained. The new swaged wire rope is particularly suitable for operations where abrasion, shock loading and general rope abuse are prevalent.
