Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a lubricating oil concentrate containing an ethoxylated ether amine and a base oil. The lubricating oil concentrate is capable of forming a stable, low foaming emulsion when added to an aqueous medium and may be useful in metalworking and cleaning fluids.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a process for the co-production of bis(para-aminocyclohexyl) methane (PACM). Also disclosed are articles of manufacture made using PACM produced by methods of this invention. The methods of the present invention generally include a first mixture having methylene di-aniline (MDA) and a second aromatic amine. The first mixture has less than 15% polymeric MDA by weight and the second aromatic amine is present in an amount to render the first mixture a liquid. The first mixture is hydrogenated to produce a product mixture comprising PACM and at least one second non-aromatic amine.

Abstract:
This invention is concerned with polyoxyalkylene glycols prepared by alkoxylating a hydroxyalkyl-2-imidazolidone and to a process for preparing flexible polyurethane foams by reacting an organic isocyanate with an admixture of a polyether polyol and an alkoxylated hydroxyalkyl-2-imidazolidone in the presence of a urethane catalyst and a blowing agent.
Abstract:

C.:(a) a 4-alkyl-2-morpholinone represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which R represents a monovalent aliphatic radical having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and(b) a hydrocarbyl oxypolyoxyalkylene amine represented by the formula: ##STR2## in which R' represents an alkyl, an alicyclic, or a alkylalicyclic radical having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, x has a value from 5 to 50, and R" represents a methyl radical or a mixture of hydrogen and methyl radicals is provided.
Abstract:
Novel polyether amides produced by reacting at least one polyalkylene glycol diamine with at least two dicarboxylic acids or esters thereof are described. The polyethylene glycol diamine has the formula NH.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.x --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --NH.sub.2, where x ranges from 2 to 6, and at least one of the dicarboxylic acids is an aromatic discarboxylic acid. These novel polyether amides may have the formula: ##STR1## where each R and R' are independently an alkylene or arylene moiety having from 3 to 34 carbon atoms, where at least one R or R' is an arylene moiety, and where each x and y independently have the values noted. Suitable dicarboxylic acids include adipic acid, azelaic acid, sebacic acid, dodecanedioic acid, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, t-butyl isophthalic acid, and mixtures thereof. Suitable diamines include triethylene glycol diamine (JEFFAMINE.RTM. EDR-148 amine) and tetraethylene glycol diamine (JEFFAMINE.RTM. EDR-192 amine), among others. The resulting polyether amides are useful to make polymers, including fibers, with unusually good water absorbancy properties. The inventive methods successfully incorporate triethylene glycol diamine and aromatic dibasic acids, where this cannot be accomplished directly.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an epoxy resin curative exhibiting extended pot life, lower reactivity and lower viscosity at ambient temperatures and increased reactivity at moderately elevated temperatures which comprises from 1 to 10 parts by weight of the ortho, meta or para form of 1-isopropyl-2-tolylimidazole per 100 parts by weight epoxy resin. The latent reactive properties make the curative potentially useful in a variety of applications.
Abstract:
A polyurea elastomer is disclosed. The elastomer includes an isocyanate, an amine terminated polyoxyalkylene polyol, and a chain extender. The isocyanate is preferably a quasi-prepolymer of an isocyanate and a material selected from at least one polyol, a high molecular weight polyoxyalkyleneamine or a combination thereof. The chain extender includes a minor amount of a tetraalkylpiperazine and a major amount of diethyltoluenediamine. A one-step method of making the tetraalkylpiperazine and tetraalkylpiperazinone is also disclosed. The method includes reacting a 2-amino-2-alkyl-1-alkanol in the presence of a nickel-iron-copper-manganese catalyst.
