Abstract: PURPOSE: A fluid distribution subassembly with a polymer layer is provided to allow large freedom degree in a design area and to reduce costs by the removal of soldering processes. CONSTITUTION: A fluid distribution subassembly with a polymer layer comprises a diaphragm(20), a body pressure chamber(13), and an adhesive sticking layer. The diaphragm is operated by a transducer. The body pressure chamber is operated by the diaphragm. The body pressure chamber is formed of a single plate or a set of welded plates. The adhesive sticking layer is placed between the diaphragm and the body pressure chamber.

Abstract: An aperture plate 10 for an inkjet printhead includes a first layer 12 having a first emissivity; a second layer 14 having a second emissivity disposed over the first layer; wherein the first emissivity is higher than the second emissivity; and optionally, at least one additional layer 18 disposed over the second layer. A method for preparing an aperture plate 10 includes providing a first layer 12 having a first emissivity; disposing a second layer 14 having a second emissivity over the first layer; wherein the first emissivity is higher than the second emissivity; optionally, disposing at least one additional layer over the second layer; and forming at least one aperture, wherein aperture formation can be before or after disposing the second layer over the first layer. The first layer preferably comprises polyimide and the second layer a metal or a metal alloy, preferably aluminium.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for registration of color images on a photoreceptor belt (14). Registration is accomplished by forming, in one embodiment, chevron-shaped registration marks (10,12) in non-image areas of the belt (14). A Raster Output Scanner (ROS) sweeps an output beam across the belt's surface. The beam is modulated in accordance with input video data to form successive color images. An unmodulated beam is also swept across the registration marks, each mark being successively swept by a plurality of beams. With each crossing of the legs of the chevron (10,12), two signals are generated by an associated sensor and stored in an averaging and extrapolation circuit. The multiple signals are compared and detection of the intersection is calculated by an extrapolation method. The averaging circuitry generates a registration signal which is used to enable an accurate start of page signal, to correct for skew and to adlust for errors and line-to-line spacing between lines in a color image frame (24).

Abstract: A fully electronic, nonmechanical raster output scanner (ROS) digital printer (10) for high resolution xerographic printing is enabled by combining a laser (14) adapted to produce a variable wavelength output with a dispersive element (20) such as a grating to present a raster scan at an image plane. In a preferred embodiment, a diode laser (14) is positioned within a laser cavity whose length is designed as a function of the resolution required for the scanned image. The wavelength varying output is incident upon a high resolution grating (20) which diffracts the radiation through a diffraction angle which varies according to the wavelength of the incident light. A scan lens (22) is positioned between the grating (20) and a photoreceptor surface (12) to provide focusing and scan linearity correction to the scan line (24).
