Abstract:
A PHOTOELECTROPHORETIC IMAGING SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED IN WHICH THE FORMED IMAGE IS ELECTROSTATICALLY TRANSFERRED. THE COLOR BALANCE OF THE IMAGE MAY BE MODIFIED DURING TRANSFER BY EXPOSURE TO SUITABLE ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION.
Abstract:
AN ELECTROPHORETIC IMAGING SYSTEM COMPRISING EXPOSING A SUSPENSION OF ELECTRICALLY PHOTOSENSITIVE PARTICLES IN A LIQUID CARRIER TO IMAGEWISE LIGHT AND, SUBSEQUENTLY, DEVELOPING THE IMAGE BY APPLYING A FIELD ACROSS THE SUSPENSION WHICH CAUSES PARTICLE MIGRATION IN IMAGE CONFIGURATION. THE PHOTOSENSITIVE PARTICLES OF THIS SYSTEM EXHIBIT FATIQUE CHARACTERISTICS IN THAT THEY REMAIN ELECTRICALLY SENSITIVE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AFTER HAVING BEEN EXPOSED TO ACTIVATING ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION.
Abstract:
THIS APPLICATION RELATES TO A METHOD OF PREPARING A NOVEL XEROPRINTING MASTER UTILIZING ELECTROPHORETIC PRINCIPLES. UPON INTRODUCING AN INSULATING MATERIAL INTO A PHOTOELECTROPHORETIC IMAGING SUSPENSION IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE AREAS FROM WHICH THE PHOTOSENSITIVE PARTICLES MIGRATE BECOME INSULATING AND CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING AN ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IN AN IMAGEWISE PATTERN.
Abstract:
AN ELECTROPHORETIC IMAGING PROCESS IS DISCLOSED UTILIZING A CONTINUOUS COATING DEVICE. THE IMAGING PROCESS USES AT LEAST ONE ROLLER ELECTRODE AND THE COATING DEVICE INCLUDES TWO COATING MEMBERS POSITIONED IN CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE OF THE ROLLER ELECTRODE. AS THE ROLLER ROTATES A PHOTOELECTROPHORETIC IMAGING SUSPENSION IS METERED ONTO ITS SURFACE BY ONE OF THE COATING MEMBERS.
Abstract:
A photoelectrophoretic imaging system and apparatus are described wherein electrically photosensitive particles dispersed in a carrier liquid are subjected to an electric field and exposed to imagewise light causing selective particle migration in image configuration. An electrostatic charge formed on the surface of the imaging suspension provides the electric field.
Abstract:
Imaging apparatus for making photoelectrophoretic images by placing a photoelectrophoretic suspension between two or more electrodes while exposing the suspension to activating electromagnetic radiation and an electric field. An electric field may be generated electrostatically either before or during imaging in any manner such as by a corona discharge device or by frictionally rubbing the surface of one of the electrodes.
Abstract:
An apparatus for improving electrophoretic imaging by filling the space between the electrodes of the electrophoretic imaging system with an insulating liquid, then contacting the suspension with the electrode and applying an electric field for imaging.
Abstract:
A photoelectrophoretic imaging system is described in which the formed image is electrostatically transferred. The transfer is aided by using uniform or imagewise light radiation of the image during transfer.
