    Abstract: A stress/strain relief process for a flexible, multilayered web stock includes providing a multilayered web stock including at least one layer to be treated, the at least one layer to be treated having a coefficient of thermal expansion significantly differing from a coefficient of thermal expansion of another layer; passing the multilayered web stock over and in contact with a first wrinkle-reducing roller that spontaneously creates transverse tension stress in the at least one layer to be treated; heating at least the at least one layer to be treated above a glass transition temperature T g of the at least one layer to be treated to thereby create a heated portion of the at least one layer to be treated, a portion of the web stock in proximity to the heated portion of the at least one layer to be treated thereby becoming a heated portion of the web stock; inducing curvature in the heated portion of the web stock; and cooling the heated portion of the web stock at said curvature.

Die mehreren Kontaktflächen umfassen mindestens eine nicht-modifizierte Kontaktfläche, die eine Oberfläche, Form und Größe aufweist, wobei die mehreren Kontaktflächen ferner mindestens eine modifizierte Kontaktfläche, die eine reduzierte Oberfläche und eine andere Größe, eine andere Form oder beides im Vergleich zu der mindestens einen nicht-modifizierten Kontaktfläche aufweist, umfassen.

    Abstract: A media transport system for conveying sheets of media along a process path extending from a media-uptake zone and thereafter through a print zone. The system includes a transport belt for holding the sheets of media generally flat via vacuum for ink jet printing. The media transport system includes a seamed vacuum transport belt, and a platen supporting the belt. The belt comprises a partially-conductive coating having a surface resistivity of from about 10 1 to about 10 6 ohms per square on a polymeric substrate. The partially-conductive coating comprises a polyester and a conductive component such as carbon black, and optionally includes a plasticizer and a leveling agent. The polymeric substrate is either a thermoplastic or a thermoset material.
