Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive device for supporting a photodetector while a photodetoector belt is packed, transported and inserted into a printing machine so that it may be positioned on a driving roll and an idler roll in the machine. SOLUTION: The customer-replaceable unit(CRU) 80 includes a frame member 82, the belt 10 and a peripheral cover 84. In order to pack the covered photoreceptor into a printer, an end cover is removed, Next, the frame member 82 of the CRU 80 is inserted into the track of the photodetector module. When the CRU 80 is supported by itself, the snap fastener of the peripheral cover 84 is detached so as to remove the cover, then, the belt separated from the cover is inserted into the final position in the photodetector module.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder capable of quickly and surely feeding the paper with reliability to sufficiently utilize the ability of a high-speed copying machine. SOLUTION: This paper feeder for feeding the paper from a paper stack 56 to a processing part, comprises a paper tray holding the paper stack 56, an air plenum 58 mounted on an upper part of the paper stack 56 and having a sealing mechanism 300 around an outer periphery, and an air blower producing the vacuum pressure in the air plenum 58 for sucking the paper of the paper stack 56 to allow the paper to be brought into contact with the air plenum 58 and the sealing mechanism 300. The air plenum 58 includes a wave forming face for waving the paper into the shape of plural chevrons and the sealing mechanism 300 is adaptable to the shape of plural chevrons of the paper.
