    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device to enable a high-priority job, substantially and immediately access a shared resource by prioritizing use of fundamental processing resources of a multi-functional printing system. SOLUTION: A control part with an improved job contention manager(JCM) is used for the printing system. Stand-by matrixes are provided to each of plural fundamental resources of the printing system. The sub-job of a prescribed job is executed, by transmitting a signal to the JCM at a desired time by one or more kinds of job services. Information about each sub-job and its priority is included in a signal about each sub-job. The JCM adds a corresponding fundamental resource sub-job to the stand-by matrixes of each fundamental resource to be required for execution of the sub-job according to the signal from the job service. The JCM reallocates the resources according to the priority of the sub-jobs added to the stand-by matrixes. When the added sub-job has the highest priority in the stand-by matrix, a processing of the sub-job is started according to reallocation of the fundamental resources.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a priority order to the usage of basic operation resources in a multifunctional printing system, and to increase active functional job resources to the basic resources under specific conditions. SOLUTION: A queue is provided to each of a plurality of basic resources of the printing system having an improved job contention manager(JCM). One or more job services perform the sub job of a prescribed job by transmitting signals to the JCM. The signal relating to each sub job includes information about each sub job and its job service and its priority. The JCM adds a first corresponding basic job resource to the queue relating to a first video function necessary for a first sub job according to the signal. When the first basic job resource is in the head in the queue of all the basic resources necessary for the first video function, the first basic job resource for the first sub job is set in the ready state of processing.

A sub-job of the image with many divided bands of a prescribed job is transferred by transmitting a signal to the JCM at a desired moment of time by one or more kinds of job service. Information about priority, divided-band numbers of each sub-job and the total divided number of the image are included in a signal on each divided band. The JCM adds, corresponding fundamental resource sub-jobs to the stand-by matrixes of each fundamental resource to be required for execution of the sub-job, according to a signal from the job service. Plural divided bands are combined into a single image for further processing, after the last divided band of the image is transferred.

SOLUTION: The printing system uses a control part having an improved job contention manager(JCM). Each of plural basic resources in the printing system is provided with a queue. As for one or more job services at a desired time point, a signal is transmitted to the JCM, so that the sub-job of a prescribed job is executed. A signal for each sub-job includes information on each of sub-jobs and the priority thereof. In accordance with the signal from the job service, the JCM adds a corresponding basic resource sub-job to the queue of respective basic resources required for executing that sub-job. When each of sub-jobs is positioned in the head of the queue of all basic resources required for executing that sub-job, preparation for processing is completed.
