Abstract:
A method of printing a job to produce a set of prints in a printing system with a print file, the print file being divided into a first buffer and a second buffer where the print file communicates with a marker. The marker employs a set of a first type of print-related information and a set of a second type of print-related information for producing the set of prints. The method includes the step of filling the first buffer with a first portion of the set of the first type of print-related information and the second buffer with the a first portion of the set of the second type of print-related information. The method further includes the step of reading, with the marker, the first portion of the set of the first type of print-related information from the first buffer and the first portion of the set of the second type of print-related information from the second buffer. When the first portion of the set of the first type of print-related information has been read by the marker, the first buffer is filled with a second portion of the set of the first type of print-related information.
Abstract:
A digital printing system includes a plurality of decomposers which operate simultaneously and independently. Each decomposer outputs page images of decomposed data at essentially random times. The page images from the decomposers are retained in a buffer until requested by a marker which controls the printer hardware. A buffer manager records where in the buffer each page image is stored, and a stream handle is assigned to every set of page images intended to form a multi-page document. When the marker requests a particular set of page images for printing, the marker invokes a stream handle. The buffer manager, receiving the stream handle, retrieves the necessary page images from recorded locations in the buffer.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high speed digital printing on a cut sheet medium with the usage of the monochrome and color functions with the minimum facility investment by a user in a digital printing system. SOLUTION: The system 40 includes first and second print lines 42 and 60 including paper feeding devices 44 and 62, marking engines 46 and 64, and finishers 48 and 68. The print lines 42 and 60 can be switched between a mode capable of independently marking a sheet fed from the paper feeding devices 44 and 62, and a mode capable of continuously marking the sheet fed only from one of the paper feeding devices 44 and 62.
