Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an efficient mechanical auxiliary force cooperating with an electrostatic transcription, by producing print cells of two-dimensional cell array, which has a nozzle formed on the front side thereof with a recess portion for receiving toner particles, and which is adapted to control the retracting and opening of a micro actuator provided under the recess portion. SOLUTION: Each printing cell in a two-dimensional array 10 has a nozzle 14 defining a recess portion on either a silicon or a glass substrate. The front face 18 of a printing cell is caused to face both a printing direction and a substrate P. A micro actuator array 22 disposed right under the printing cell substrate 16 has a movable bottom for recess portion of each printing cell, and is formed by a base substrate 24 having on each printing cell an address circuit and an electrode 28. Each cavity 34 is provided with a movable spring member 40 which is fixed on one end thereof and is used as an actuator element. The length, width, thickness, material property and weight of the spring member 40 are properly selected so as to adjust its deflecting amount and deflecting speed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the effect of a parasitic current passage occurring in a switching matrix for controlling the ejector in an acoustic ink printer. SOLUTION: In a switching matrix 60, a non-select column is connected with a column compensation bus 54 through a capacitor 52. When a transducer 20a at row 0 and column 0 is selected, for example, a current flowing from row 12a to a column other than column 0 is drawn out from that column to the column compensation bus 54. Consequently, the current flowing through a parasitic current passage returning from that column to column 0 (e.g. a passage comprising transducers 20d, 20e including the signal line 12b of that column other than row 0) is reduced.
