Abstract:
A solid ink delivery system for use with a plurality of solid ink sticks for use in solid ink printers is provided. The delivery system includes a guide for guiding the solid ink sticks in a prescribed path and a drive member for simultaneous engagement with a plurality of the solid ink sticks and extending along a portion of the prescribed path of the guide.

Abstract:
A method evaluates printhead position in a staggered full width array (SFWA) printhead assembly (230). The method includes selecting a first printhead configuration (232,234,236,238) for printing a first test pattern on an image receiving member, generating positional correction data for roll and stitch displacements obtained from captured image data of the first test pattern, comparing the positional correction data to at least one threshold in a displacement range, and operating at least one printhead actuator (220) in accordance with the positional correction data in response to the positional correction data exceeding at least one predetermined threshold in the displacement range.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the stitch and roll errors in an image forming device. SOLUTION: This image forming device with a sandwich arrangement type full width array print-head assembly includes: the step of selecting a first print-head setting for printing a first test pattern on an image receiving member; the step of producing positional correction data against the displacements of the roll and stitch obtianed from the image data taken in from the first test pattern; the step of comparing the positional correction data with at least one threshold value in a displacement range; and the step of operating at least one print-head actuator in accordance with the positional correction data in response to the positional correction data, which exceeds at least one predetermined threshold value in the displacement range. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink feeding system which can easily load solid ink sticks by a large amount and prevents jamming. SOLUTION: A driving member, for example, a drive belt 316 is set extending at a chute 308 as a guide which guides the solid ink stick 306 along at least a part of a stick feeding route defined by the chute 308. The belt 316 simultaneously contacts generally a plurality of the sticks 306 present on the stick feeding route, feeding them from a loading part 324 to a liquefying part 330. A groove with a straight part or a curved part is formed on an external surface of the stick 306 to match the shape of the belt 316. The belt 316 is made to contact inside. A spring-urged push block for pushing the stick rearmost becomes unnecessary, whereby the loading number of the sticks is increased. Loading is facilitated to prevent jamming due to the spring pushing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
