    Abstract: A method of automatically creating trust communities in a fleet of devices. The method includes finding candidate devices in a fleet of devices via one or more candidate discovery techniques and generating device-related data based on the candidate devices that are found, analyzing the device-related data via an analytics engine and creating one or more fleet orchestrator device lists based on the analysis of the device-related data, and automatically creating one or more new trust communities or suggesting joining one or more previously existing trust communities based at least on the one or more fleet orchestrator device lists for the candidate devices, wherein the one or more new trust communities or previously existing trust communities include at least a sub-set of the devices in the fleet, and wherein at least one of the managed devices in the sub-set of devices is configured as a root device to publish files via a file sharing function.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed. For example, the method executed by a processor of a multi-function device (MFD) includes detecting use of the MFD, wherein the MFD is associated with a plurality of MFDs that are designated as a cluster within a location, deactivating the MFD in response to use of the MFD being detected, transmitting a first notification to deactivate the plurality of MFDs within the cluster in response to use of the MFD being detected, initiating a decontamination process within the location in response to the use of the MFD being detected, receiving an indication that the decontamination process is completed, transmitting a second notification to reactivate the plurality of MFDs within the cluster, and reactivating the MFD.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a novel system and method to enables users to map a user's intent finishing selections for a finishing job to each subsystem, e.g., device, protocol, ADF, and finisher unit, of an imaging device. The presently claimed invention creates distinct perspectives and a way to map between perspectives. The distinct perspectives include intent orientation, a print protocol, ADF, copy/scan/fax platen, device, and finisher unit. Through use of novel transformation for automating image rotations to dramatically reduce errors with understandable and repeatable correct outcomes. The formal algorithmic and mathematical approaches disclosed in the present invention makes it easier to describe subsystems of an imaging device. The software implementation using this novel approach eliminates the need for conditional logic based programming customized for each imaging device and its various subsystems.

    Abstract: To troubleshoot an error, a printer uses a job ticket and printer-independent document data to perform a job, such as printing a document. The job ticket includes instructions for hardware component settings of the printer. In response to a capture bug command, the printer will capture, from a group of hardware configuration sensors, real-time values of the settings for the print device hardware components while the print device implements performs the job. The printer will save the captured real-time values of the settings, the job ticket, and the printer-independent document data to a merged file, and it will transmit the merged file to a maintenance service.
