Abstract:
A self-cleaning filter including a filter housing having at least a raw-liquid inlet and a clean-liquid outlet, a filter medium interposed between the raw-liquid inlet and the clean-liquid outlet At least one nozzle is located in proximity to the filter medium and is connectable to at least two different sources of pressure, one of which pressures is higher than the pressure prevailing in the filter, the other one being lower than the pressure prevailing in the filter There is also provided an arrangement to produce a relative movement between the filter medium and the at least one nozzle to the effect of having a substantial part of the surface area of the filter medium covered by the nozzle.
Abstract:
A filter system for filtering solids includes a filtration tank for receiving a slurry containing the solids to be filtered. A filter assembly including a plurality of filter cells each having a filter medium at an exterior and a cavity at an interior is lowered into the filtration tank using a transport device carrying the filter assembly. A vacuum transfer system is connected to the filter assembly so as to transfer a vacuum to an interior of the filter cells. The vacuum transfer system is operable to perform the filtering and to retain the filtered solids while the transport device moves the filter assembly relative to the filtration tank.

A self-cleaning filter including a filter housing (2) having at least a raw-liquid inlet (4), a clean-liquid outlet (6), and a filter medium (8) interposed between the raw-liquid inlet and the clean-liquid outlet, has at least one nozzle (10) which is located in proximity to the filter medium (8) and is connectable to at least two different sources of pressure (HP,LP), one of which pressures is higher than the pressure prevailing in the filter, the other one being lower than the pressure prevailing in the filter. There is also provided an arrangement (16,18,20,22) to produce a relative movement between the filter medium (8) and the at least one nozzle (10) to effect coverage of a substantial part of the surface area of the filter medium by the nozzle.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a self-cleaning filtering system which can solve clogging in a filter without separate operation and dismantling of the devices after detecting the clogging in the filter. According to the present invention, entire inside and outside walls of the filter element can be advantageously cleansed through a simple construction, by means of relative rotational and reciprocal linear movement of the filter element itself with regard to the nozzle in the cleansing member at the state in which the cleansing member is secured to the inside and outside of the filter element. Accordingly, troublesome works such as cleansing the outside wall of the filter element by injecting high pressure water from the outside after completely dismantling the devices can be removed, although the devices are used under bad conditions, so that labor and maintenance costs can be economized, and filtering efficiency can be enhanced because cleansing operation of the inside and outside walls in the filter element can be performed automatically without stopping the filtering operation of the devices.
