Abstract: A shaped catalyst body for heterogeneously catalyzed reactions of organic compounds in the gas-phase in fixed-bed reactors, containing an element from group 3 to 12 of the Periodic Table of the Elements, and having a three-lobed structure with a lateral surface around the lobes, a top cover and a bottom cover, as well as three continuous holes running from one cover side to the other cover side, wherein each hole is assigned to one lobe and wherein the cover sides have outwardly shaped arches, its production and a process for its use in the heterogeneously catalyzed reaction of an organic compound in the gas phase.

Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft einen VPO-Katalysator in Form eines Formkörpers zur Oxidation von Kohlenwasserstoffen mit molekularem Sauerstoff, insbesondere zur Oxidation von Butan zu Maleinsäureanhydrid mit molekularem Sauerstoff, wobei der VPO-Katalysator zwischen 0,05 Gew.-% bis 7,0 Gew.-% Zn enthält, welches teilweise als ZnO vorliegt und bei in Transmission durchgeführter Infrarotspektroskopie eine erste Absorptionsbande mit einem Maximum zwischen 790 cm-1 bis 810 cm-1 und eventuell eine zweite Absorptionsbande mit einem Maximum zwischen 820 cm-1 bis 840 cm-1 aufweist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass nur die erste Absorptionsbande vorhanden ist oder die Stärke der ersten Absorptionsbande größer ist als die Stärke der zweiten Absorptionsbande. Die Erfindung betrifft des Weiteren ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines erfindungsgemäßen VPO-Katalysators, umfassend die Schritte:
a) Herstellen einer Katalysatorvorstufe enthaltend Vanadylhydrogenphosphat,
b) Formen der Katalysatorvorstufe zu einem Formkörper.
c) Aktivieren der Formkörper, um eine VPO-Phase auszubilden,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass nach Schritt a) ZnO mit der Katalysatorvorstufe vermischt wird.-

Abstract: Single crystalline nanoparticles that are tantalum nitride doped with at least one metal are described. The single crystalline nanoparticles can be doped with two metals such as Zr and Mg. The single crystalline nanoparticles can be Ta3N5:Mg+Zr, or Ta3N5:Mg, or Ta3N5:Zr or any combination thereof. Catalyst containing the single crystalline nanoparticles alone or with one or more co-catalyst are further described along with methods of making the nanoparticles and catalyst. Methods to split water utilizing the catalyst are further described.

Abstract: The present invention relates (i) to a method for producing a doped copper-tetraammine-salt-based hydrogenation catalyst suitable for the hydrogenation of an aromatic nitro compound such that an aromatic amine is obtained, the hydrogenation catalyst comprising copper in metal form or in oxidic form and a doping metal selected from iron, cobalt, manganese, vanadium, zinc or a mixture of two or more thereof in metal form or in oxidic form on a carrier, the carrier comprising silicon dioxide shaped bodies and/or silicon carbide shaped bodies, (ii) to a doped copper-tetraammine-salt-based hydrogenation catalyst obtainable using the aforementioned method according to the invention, and (iii) to a method for producing an aromatic amine, comprising the hydrogenation of an aromatic nitro compound in the presence of a doped copper-tetraammine-salt-based hydrogenation catalyst comprising copper in metal form or in oxidic form and comprising a doping metal in metal form or in oxidic form on a carrier as hydrogenation catalyst, the carrier comprising silicon dioxide shaped bodies and/or silicon carbide shaped bodies, and the hydrogenation catalyst being, more particularly, the aforementioned hydrogenation catalyst according to the invention.
