Abstract:
An electrostatic paint powder booth apparatus having filters for recovery of overspray powder entrained in the air drawn from the housing in which workpieces are sprayed. The apparatus comprises interchangeable particulate filter systems in combination with alternative airflow paths, allowing for rapid changeover between successive runs of differing colors without intermixing of the different colors.
Abstract:
A powder coating system particularly adapted for coating large objects such as automotive and other vehicle bodies comprises a spray booth having a manual/robotic spraying area for the application of powder to the inner door flanges and other hard to reach areas of the vehicle body using manually or rotatably operated powder dispensers, and an automatic spraying area wherein the remainder of the vehicle body is coated using automatically manipulated powder dispensers. A powder collection and recovery system is associated with the spray booth which includes removable cartridge filters arranged in V-shaped filter banks within powder collection chambers beneath the floor of the booth, a system for the transfer of powder collected in the powder collection chambers to hoppers located exteriorly of the booth and an air exhaust system for equalizing the negative pressure within clean air chambers which receive clean air after filtering by the cartridge filters.
Abstract:
In a rotary compressive molding machine for powder material wherein powder material filled in a die hole of a die mounted on a rotary table is compressed and molded between a lower end face of the upper punch and an upper end face of the lower punch, a powder lubricant spraying means that sprays powder lubricant comprises a spray nozzle that has a concave face facing to the lower end face of the upper punch or the upper end face of the lower punch at a position where the powder lubricant is sprayed and that sprays the powder lubricant generally toward a direction of the lower end face of the upper punch or the upper end face of the lower punch guided by the concave face, an air current supply mechanism that prevents the powder lubricant sprayed from the spray nozzle from scattering upward by spraying air near the lower end face of the upper punch, and an electrostatic charge device that electrizes the powder lubricant when the powder lubricant is sprayed from the spray nozzle and that electrizes at least the upper punch, the lower punch and the die with an antipolarity against the electrized powder lubricant.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for recovering paint include utilizing a plurality of centrifugal separator modules downstream of a paint booth. Each of the centrifugal separator modules includes a plurality of centrifugal separators. Each of the centrifugal separators separates at least a portion of the paint particles from an air stream.
Abstract:
A chemically washed workpiece is heated and degreased by a heating and degreasing section in a process for delivering the workpiece in a base which is then cooled down in a cooling section. The workpiece is then delivered onto the base by a lift-up unit and is coated by the adhesion of the powder coat and the curing operation during the passage of pipes of an electrostic coater, a curing section and the like. Furthermore, the workpiece is again delivered into the base by a lift-down unit and discharged after being cooled down during the passage of pipes of the cooling section i.e., the units of each step being arranged separately into a lower mechanism group and an upper mechanism group, and the cooling section also serving to cool the workpiece after the heating, degreasing and curing. Accordingly, the overall length of the apparatus is shortened. Also, since the electrostic coater, an workpiece outer circumference cleaner and the cuing section are covered by independent dust protecting covers, dust collecting efficiency for the floating powder coat is enhanced.
Abstract:
Apparatus and process for extracting powder from a stream of powder laden air drawn from a manual powder spray booth in a first embodiment, with a cyclone recovery system, typically containing two cyclone separators for separating the powder from the air. The cyclone separators have a breakaway design to facilitate cleaning. The resulting cyclone cleaned air is drawn through a prefilter section by a fan section having serially stacked fans. The prefilter section further separates powder from the cyclone cleaned air. The resulting prefilter cleaned air is next filtered in a final filter section and exhausted to the air surrounding the cyclone recovery system. The invention also relates to an improved cyclone separator which incorporates a perforated thimble between the downwardly and upwardly moving vortexes in the cyclone separator to reduce the pressure drop across the cyclone separator. In a second embodiment, a stream of powder laden air is drawn from an automatic powder spray booth with a cyclone recovery system typically incorporating horizontally disposed cyclone separators, each with a perforated thimble, a filter module with cartridge filters, a fan module, and a final filter.
Abstract:
A spray booth in which objects are coated by spraying with a finely divided coating material, the booth including: a housing composed of a ceiling which has a lower surface, a plurality of walls each having an inner surface and a floor, the surfaces delimiting a spray space; a system for recovering finely divided material not deposited on the objects; at least one scraping bar for scraping finely divided material off of at least one surface selected from the lower surface and an inner surface; and an operating mechanism for supporting and displacing the scraping bar along the at least one surface. The booth is scraped by first scraping one of the lower surfaces of the ceiling and the inner surface of at least one of the walls, and then scraping the floor.
Abstract:
A cabin for an electrostatic powder coating installation comprising a filter communicating with an internal compartment or space of the cabin, the side of the filter facing away from such internal compartment being exposed to the action of a negative pressure. A cleaning device is operatively associated with the filter. The cleaning device and the filter are relatively movable with respect to one another. The filter is constructed as a rotatable filter drum arranged in a chamber bounding and connected with the internal compartment of the cabin. There also is provided a stationary suction nozzle spanning the filter drum along a generatrix or surface line, and the suction nozzle is connected via a separator with a suction blower.
Abstract:
Plant for the powdered-paint spraying of pieces to be painted, comprising a spraying booth with replaceable walls of the disposable type and a unit for feeding and recovering the paint that has not deposited on the pieces to be painted. The booth comprises a supporting frame which delimits a spraying chamber having at least two walls or half-booths which are arranged mutually opposite, have replaceable sheets and are movably mounted with respect to one another for moving mutually closer and further apart to vary the section of the spraying chamber according to the width of the pieces to be painted.
