    Abstract: PURPOSE: A surface light source apparatus is provided to improve the luminance and luminescent efficiency by using a hollow electrode of a complicated shape as a side electrode and a gap electrode. CONSTITUTION: A back substrate(3) has at least one floor in order to form at least one rectangular channel with a front substrate(1). A partial zone of the floor is joined and layered with the front substrate(1). A fluorescent substance is applied to at least one part of an opposite surface of the front substrate(1) and the back substrate(3). An electrode unit is provided to both sides of a joining body of the front substrate(1) and the back substrate(3) to apply the power. A nonactive gas is put in the channel zone. A reflecting layer is provided between the fluorescent substance and the back substrate(3) to reflect the light.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic tube with cylindrical electrodes.
