A radiating plate has a heat transmission unit for equalizing a surface temperature of the image display unit. The heat transmission unit uses a loop heat pipe. The loop heat pipe has a small amount of operation fluid inside, the inside of the loop heat pipe being under vacuum. The loop heat pipe circulates heat emitted from the image display unit to equalize the temperature of the image display unit. Accordingly, the partial damage to the panel caused by the high temperature heat generated from the panel can be prevented, and the life span of the panel can be extended.     Abstract: An ebullient cooling system employs a thyratron or other power device which is located within a hollow of a housing. The housing contains a liquid which completely surrounds the device. The liquid is of a type which provides high electrical insulation and which boils at a temperature compatible with the desired operating temperature of the thyratron. A heat exchanger is contained in the housing and is located above the liquid level. The heat exchanger is adapted to receive vapors which are produced when the device is operating and serves to condense the vapors back to a liquid to return the same to the reservoir. The power device is thusly cooled by the latent heat of vaporization and by the action of the heat exchanger when condensing the vapors back to a liquid.
