Abstract:
A liquid spraying apparatus for a road machine with a spraying bar (1), a plurality of spray nozzles being provided along said spraying bar. The liquid spraying apparatus is connected to a container supplying spraying liquid by means of a pump. According to the invention, the pump (7) is connected to a speed-sensing drive wheel (11) through a gear so as to provide a speed-dependent dosing of spraying liquid.
Abstract:
Apparatus for distributing, for example, weed-killer comprises delivery members (112,114) which are supplied with the weedkiller by a pump (102). The delivery member (112, 114) comprise rotating discs, the speed of which is controlled by a central processing unit (CPU)(250). The CPU (250) also controls the output of the pump (102) in order to regulate the flowrate of weedkiller in response to a preset area concentration (dose selector (104)) and the travel speed (wheel pick-up (100)). The delivery of weedkiller per unit area thus remains constant regardless of the travel speed.
Abstract:
An electrostatic atomising sprayhead assembly is mounted within the gas stream from an air blower, so that electrostatically formed droplets are entrained in the gas flow.
Abstract:
Apparatus for and method of spraying a substance such as paint onto a road surface or the like to form a coating of uniform thickness in which the speed of the vehicle (10) mounting the system is detected and a speed signal produced which controls air flow through a variable flow air valve (34) to a diaphragm air pump (50) which supplies paint or other substance to a spray gun (22, 24). The speed is detected by a road wheel (40) which feeds a train of pulses to a frequency to D.C. converter (39). The converter (39) produces an electrical signal which controls a transducer (44) for controlling the variable air valve (34).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a manifold (112) as well as a plurality of valves (114a, 114b) removably and sealably connectable thereto. The manifold (112) includes a first surface (162) defining a fluid circulation passageway (22), a second surface defining a central passageway (120), and a third surface defining a flow regulating passageway (123) communicating with the fluid circulation passageway (22) and intersecting the central passageway (120) to define a port (180) therebetween that lies in a substantially flat plane. A valve housing (132) defines a longitudinal axis (138) and includes a first end defining a valve assembly outlet (160) controled by a valve member (148) and a plurality of bores (180) extending through the valve housing (132). A conical face (184) extends from the first end of the valve housing and diverges from the longitudinal axis (138).
Abstract:
A hand propelled spraying unit (10), the unit includes a vessel (12) adapted to hold liquid to be sprayed, the vessel (12) having a spraying outlet (14) in fluid communication with the interior of the vessel. The vessel (12) is pressurised in response to rotation of wheels (18) of the unit in any direction over a ground surface, the rate of pressurisation of the vessel by the pressurisation means (pump (20) connecting to pressure accumulator (56) in the vessel) is adjustable with respect to any given rate of travel of the ground engaging wheels (15) over a ground surface. Cogs (30, 32, 34) of different sizes allow adjustment of the rate of pressurisation by pump (20) and hence the rate of pressurisation of the vessel (12) allowing different spraying rates.
