Bei einer Anlage zur Anzeige von Fahrzeughaltestellen des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs sollen die Passagiere über die nächste Haltestelle informiert werden, ohne daß dies der Fahrer tun muß. Es sind hierfür an den Haltestellen Sender vorgesehen. Im Fahrzeug ist ein die Haltestellennamen enthaltender Speicher angeordnet. Beim Anfahren der Haltestelle wird aus dem Speicher der Name der angefahrenen und oder der der nächstfolgenden Haltestelle abgerufen. Nach dem Ver lassen der Haltestelle wird der Name der nachsten Haltestel le im Klartext angezeigt.

This invention is a complex electronic unit with autonomous feeding which is absolutely tamper-proof and protected from any form of physical trauma which could take place in a vehicle. It is capable of memorizing all parameters which concern motion and are indicative of its components with the aim of ascertaining responsability after an impact or infringement.

The invention concerns a system for facilitating the administration and management of a large number of vehicles, which system comprises an identification device (2) associated with the respective vehicle (6) for identifying the latter and given properties thereof, such as engine capacity, pollutant class, registered keeper of the vehicle, etc. which are associated with the respective vehicle (6). The identification device (2) cannot be removed from the vehicle without rendering the identification device (2) inoperative. The system according to the invention further comprises a communication device (4), by means of which data identifying the respective vehicle (6) and describing the given properties can be fetched from the identification device (2) of the respective vehicle (6). The identification device (2) comprises a memory device (8) with a plurality of memory areas (8-i) in which the data identifying the vehicle (6) and describing its given properties are stored. Acess to the different memory areas (8-i) is reserved for different users and is protected by different access codes which are known only to the respective users.

A recording device (22) for electronically recording values shown on a counter (35) having a readable display, i.e. a mechanical drum or an LCD display, no electrical connection being required to transfer the values between the counter (35) and the recording device (22). The measured values are determined by a readout device (27) including an optical device for projecting an image of the readable display onto one or more diodes. An attachment device combining a mechanical device and an electrical circuit is used to control the positioning of the recording devices and incorporate them into a computer system.

The display device is intended to display data and/or parametric values in motor vehicles wherein there is provided an electronic control device to control the functions of a combustion motor driving a vehicle, such as the ignition or the fuel injection. Said control device (14) is provided with an internal diagnostic unit (17). When said unit detects an error, a switching device is actuated in order to provide to the display device the type of error and/or the value of the error detected in place of the data and/or the parametric values momentarily displayed. Thereby, the attention of vehicle's driver is drawn to the detected error without requiring an additional display.

In order to detect, record and evaluate from case to case operational and/or driving data of a vehicle, at least a first detection unit (2), a data processing computer unit (24), a storage (54), in particular for the time-dependent storage of data, and at least a second detection unit (3a) with an independent, in particular different, operation from the first detection unit (2), are provided. The data from both detection units (2, 3a) are stored and made available in the storage (54), and are evaluated, if required outside the vehicle, in order to electronically test whether the data supplied by the first detection unit (2) are correct, faulty or manipulated. If required, a data interface (5) for tapping the data is associated to the storage (54).
