Abstract:
Esta invencion se refiere a un substrato para disco para su uso en una unidad de disco, este substrato para disco consiste esencialmente de zirconia parcialmente estabilizada y tiene una aspereza de superficie (Ra) de no más de 10 angstroms.
Abstract:
There are disclosed a perpendicular magnetic recording medium comprising a substrate of a polymer film containing 0.7% by weight or less of a residual solvent and a ferromagnetic alloy layer formed on the substrate and a method for preparing the same comprising the steps of heating a substrate composed of a polymer film containing a residual solvent in order to regulate a content of the solvent existing in the substrate to 0.7% by weight or less; and afterward forming a magnetic layer composed of a ferromagnetic alloy on the substrate. The perpendicular magnetic recording medium of the present invention has a prolonged durability and heightened reliability.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium has a biaxially-oriented polyester film base which includes carbon black beads having a median diameter from 50 to 500 nm and is substantially free from beads or agglomerates more than 5 micrometers in diameter. The beads provide opacity such as is often required of the flexible recording disk of a diskette. The film base may be either a single layer, throughout which the beads are uniformly dispersed, or it may be multi-layer, e.g., a central containing the carbon black beads and two surface layers which are free from the beads.
Abstract:
A high recording density magnetic recording medium including a non-magnetic base film, a magnetic layer, and an undercoat layer provided therebetween. The undercoat layer includes non-magnetic particles, a binder resin, and a lubricant. The non-magnetic particles comprise (1) a non-magnetic iron oxide with an acicular ratio ranging from 5 to 10 and a long axis length ranging from 0.05 to 0.3 mu m, and (2) a carbon black having a structure constitution, and the weight ratio between said non-magnetic iron oxide and said carbon black is within the range between 85/15 and 99/1.
Abstract:
A biaxially oriented base film made from polyethylene 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate and a floppy disk for high-density magnetic recording made from the film. The film and the disk are characterized in that the vibration of the film surface is suppressed so as to enable the contact with a magnetic head under given conditions even at a high rotational speed and that they have an excellent viscoelasticity.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic support and a magnetic layer provided thereon, said magnetic layer comprising a magnetic recording element and a binder, characterized in that said magnetic recording element mainly comprises acicular gamme-Fe 2 O 3 , particles having a porosity of not more than 5% by volume in average, a specific surface area of 24 to 30 m'/g and the intensity at the face (210) to that at the face (311) in the X ray diffraction being not more than 5%, said magnetic recording medium being much improved in electromagnetic conversion characteristics such as sensitivity and noise.
Abstract:
An oriented polyester film comprising a polyester derived from ethylene terephthalate as the major monomeric unit; from 0.01 to 1.0% by weight of silica and/or titanium dioxide particles having an average size of 0.01 to 0.5 µm; and from 0.005 to 1.0% by weight of calcium carbonate particles having an average particle size of 0.01 to 0.5 µm. It can be used as the base film for a video tape.
